Hi Everyone,
I have been a regular at this forum, but this is my first post. I am currently looking at buying a used 2000-2001 GT-S. I was wondering if you Celica owners can give me some good advice on what to look for and what to expect (especially all the TSB issues).

haha.. i'll get you started...

first find out exactly what warranty issues the car was in for... check the TSB section... if it was a covered item in there then that is a GOOD thing.

obviously you'd want to find out about the rev limiter... word to the wise.. if the car has a higher than 8000RPM rev limiter then it came from the factory with close gates ... find out if the 02 gates are on there.. usually that indicates a mis shift or a replaced tranny.

you obviously wanna get the VIN of the car and do a carfax to find out about any accidents or anything...

you should also get a history printout from a dealership.. if its a local dealership go with the guy and have him give them the VIN and get a printout of all the maintenance history.

other than that try to find a good deal and have fun with your new car.

P.S. make sure that its a manual...

Thanks GTSLaid!!!
After a couple of days, I thought that I came to the wrong message board. Well, I saw one Celica and it was clean and all but I think the guy blew a motor. He was kind of shady on why he was selling the car so soon.

Well, if I cannot find a good used 2000-2001 GTS, I will buy a new 2003. I just hope they will raise the rev limit back to the old way. Thanks.
