well yesterday i got my header from mb...shiping was good and fast....and it came complete with everything, (so thx min fot it and the deal....i appreciate it a lot...its good to see that at the end it all came good for me the customer thx)to anybody else if u got a problem with mb be sure to call min he will probably help u all the way...within reason of course...hey min i am wating for the free cf hood u promise me for this http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/wink.gifi am j/k

so i proceed to install it late at night, like at 12midnight...its great to have lights to work at night...so like at 345 am i decide to stop till the nest day, and today i finished....its a pain in the ass, the install guide from sideshowbob helps but not much in the hard parts, also for anybody doing it, the header is attched with a 12mm wrench not a 10mm....the top part of the heatshield can be remove from the top, after the heade have been physically removed from the block(even thoug is still in the engine comparment), after removing the top part the lower part can be easily removed from the croos membrane under the car...u will need to remove the cat and the o2 sensors to do it, not hard just tedious...afterwards...removing the stock manifold is a bitch...but it will come out easily if u take it out the same way it bolted out from the block, in that same position....u will need to get one side out first and the the rest will follow...

now for pips that think that installing a cai is hard, dont event try to do this is time consuming all the way...and u have to take a lot of parts away from the car to make it fit...

also no wonder they dont make a header for a gts, there would be noway of taking it out with out remiving the head or the engine out...i doubt one header will comeout for the gts...it would be to hard to install. and i say hard cuase i dont want to say impossible....

the header makes the car sound really good, now its meaner...the growl is like more strong...dunno how to explain it...it pulls hard all the way from 3 to 3500 all the way to redline, feels good and from my butt dyno i can swear its pulling...
good luck to anybody thinking of installing the header....feel free to email sideshowbob...not me...i will probably kill myself if i had to deal with another header install...

why do you think it would be that much harder for the GTS? it looks like the engine compartment is just as cramped in either model....

Celica RZ:
i dont hink it would be harder, i know it ould be that way...he gts engine is bigger that the gt, not by much, they both still are 1.8 liter engines...but u see the top part of the gts engine...the head is bigger that the gt...lots bigger...an to install the headeru need to unbolt more than half of the bolts from upthere, in the gt is very hard...almost impossible in the gts that is more cramped i would have to say its a night mare....now i do think there are gains to be realiza from a header...after seeing larrys shots of the stock one...i have to say that there is power to be found there especially in the lift area...

anyways that theory that the stock header of the gts was made by dont remeber the name of that company is bull...they look like the gt like sh1t...i think that the reason no body has made one is because is cramped as hell...i would die if i had to install one in a gts, after doing it in the gt

it was so hard....but thats what i know!!!

by the way here is a shot of larrys exhaust manifold...look at that...they suk big time...

that is not quality in my opinion of course.

i want to man...money is short right now, because i work for the airline industry, but, i am waiting for some money that it owe to me...so i will see...i really want to, cause i feel a big difference....

Maelfyn:
i know what it is to wait for something, but dont worry, it will arrive, mb its delivering...u will see how sweet the box looks like...good luck with ur install...u will need some washer for the install so as soon as u get the header get them for the main studs that goes to the main piping, u will need them, and they are not a part of the kit....no biggie, but have that in mind...hope u get it soon...
