map light bulb burned out

My car's map light bulb burned out inside. How do I replace it?

just unscrew the screw, and reach in, push the bulb in slightly, twist and remove.

I'd recommend going with LED bulbs, they would outlast the life of the car.

the bulb is about $5 bucks from Toyota. After you remove the screw you have to pull on the plastic cover (the entire cover NOT just the lens part), it takes a little force but don't worry it won't break.

yea use a small flathead and pull around the rim gently. theres like 4 little clips holding it on

check the wattage as some are dimmer than others...if you want, it'd be a good time to mod the inside cover....red or blue looks good

autozone and advancedautoparts are starting to stock led replacement dome bulbs.
They cost $8.oo to 16.oo They also have for $7.oo, 3 little 1 led bullet lites on a plastic sticky back peel off bar(stick it where you want to) .Each one rotates on a ball socket so you can aim them where you like, but you are limited by a 3 ft cord that goes to a cigarette lighter plug in with an off/on slide swith built in. i bought on for extra interior ligghting while driving at nite. I got blue led lites so they dont kill my nite vision while still letting me see the things I want inside the car.

i tried advance auto parts and auto zone and they didn't have it. i went to a toyota dealership and they had it, but it was hard to take the cover off and i didn't want to break it, so they put it in for me for free.

Just remember, you cant put blue lights on the outside of your ride because you be arrested for impersonating a pigmobile.

I mention this because all lites on previous post look blue.

Yes, there are some CeliGTS pigmobiles, they are rare, but a few out there.

Hard to arrest people with kid sized back seats.
Suspect have to lay down across seats; no room to sit upright. :chuckles:
