I finally found a website that details what many on this site (and others) have been saying about different types of gas. I had my opinions on different brands, and I heard many other opinions...but I wanted something to at least attempt to prove it to me (other than personal experience, since everyone's personal experiences probably vary a bit...if they didn't, we would all be using the same brand of gas, now wouldn't we?). Anyway, just thought that I would share it:

I only wish there was a Chevron station around here, but the Shell station is less than a mile from my house...and at only $.10 difference between octane grades, and around a 10 gallon fill-up, the benefits of putting premium in the tank rather than than regular far outweigh the $2.00 total price difference per fill up. IMHO.

I personally always use Chevron Octane 94 in my GT-S. In Canada its easy to get Octane 94, as alot of other gas stations have it. I tried Shell's Octane 91, Esso's Octane 91, etc etc but car ran differently, not as smoothly. I find I get the best gas mileage too with the Chevron 94, and way better top-end pull/power. Also the Octane 94 has more techron cleaning additive, which keeps everything cleaner.

Shopping strictly from one station imo, is useless.
I work in oil refineries and my friend drives the truck out to stations with the gasoline.
Same refinery, he drops gasoline off at Shell, Sunoco, Chevron, BP, and several others. BTW I work at ExxonMobil.
Just because the station says one brand, doesn't mean the gas is that brand.

When I stopped using gas from stations not labeled "top tier" my gas mileage increased (first tank from Shell gave me around 15 more miles than what I was used to with other brands). My car performed a little smoother, especially at idle waiting on the light to turn to green. This was before I began modifying the engine (cai, etc). My personal experience appears contrary to your "it doesn't matter" post.

That's the great thing, you can buy whatever you want! I'm not trying to persuade anyone to buy any one brand, I'm simply stating facts.

Your facts are a lil off , as I always see shell trucks unloading at shell stations, and the same with other companys.

I won't argue, but I will stand firm on my point.
