View Full Version : my deck stoppped working! dang it!

my panasonuc deck just died today, this is weird my friend had the same deck in his civic and it died! it's the 800u model. any ideas on what's wrong? i'm going through music withdrawls.

send it back for repair.

you know what my brother had the same problem..he got one on his new RSX-type S that came off from his old civic SI....It just stop working suddenly, he was going to get a new one, but he tried calling panasonic about his problem and they gladly repaired it for him. Actually I think they gave him a new one with the same model though. So try calling them I think that model they produce has a defect on it or something.:D

thanx for the info, anyone know if there's a fuse for the stereo system or anything in our car? i want to check every possible thing before thinking it's the deck and ripping it out and sending it in.

Just get a tester and check for connectivity at the wiring harness. Then you'll know is it's the car or the deck.

please explain a little further josh, what kind of testor are thee speaking off? and karim's stock wires were chopped since i have premuim sound in my gt and they didn't have a wiring harness for this in april 2000. man you hear all the different sounds of your car when you don't have a stereo anymore.

Um, they're called testers :)

The simplest would be a test light.

Personally, I have a multi-tester kinda like this one:

Take out the HU and test the power, ACC, Illumination, etc wires. You can find the wiring codes (and what they should read) here:
