Oh WEAK. This would seriously suck. I don't live there but I bet alot of other states would look into that if it passed.

Ha, that will never happen. BTW, don't a lot of Semis use turbos? I am no trucker, but I seem to remember that from somewhere.
They may as well ban tires, I mean don't tires allow cars to operate in excess of the design? Better ban brakes too, don't want people to stop too fast and get whiplash. Get rid of headlights too, they are so distracting at night!
One more reason to hate Nebraska.

OK... jeez, WTF.... Russia? China? is that where we live?
WTF?????? Screw it, I'll be living in PA by the time I get my Celica back anyways. This state is so weak. I doubt it will happen though. Ponitac and Fords won't be able to sell some of their cars in the state, making them not 50 state legal. Those companies won't let this happen. Very, very weak.

It is stupid and it can hurt people, but I fail to see how banning this stuff is going to make a difference. People will still street race, it will just take them longer to get up to speed when they do it.

Street racing has been around far longer than turbo's have been commonplace.
Better driver education will do worlds more than banning turbos. But I guess some politicians need some kind of quick fix, I mean elections are right around the corner .

Maybe they meant aftermarket and not OEM FI systems. If FI systems are banned, big block engines will make a comeback.

And I think that's the whole point of the bill. To keep the kids paying Civic insurance rates from reaching Viper speeds and killing someone. I'm not saying I think these laws are going to have the affect they want. I'm just saying that I'm pretty sure that's the motivation behind the laws.

there only trying to ban after market not factory turbo's ..... I still believe it is rediculous . the goverment believes by banning a go fast part that they are going to elliminate stupid driver's and the fact is a stupid driver is going to be a stupid driver with out thes go fast parts I suggest every one send's that letter to bill prat with sema. these issues can spread like wild fire and with an organizatrion like sema on our side if we give them support they will be able to keep tunning of any sort legal atleast to the best of there ability's

That bill will have a hard time passing in Nebraska. From living there for almost 12 years I can tell you that in the more rural areas build ups of older model cars is still very popular and some in the urban areas too. If this bill were to pass it could be selectivly enforced to these cars too. It would quickly fail. Taking away a country boys blown 69 Camero would be about as hard as taking his gun.

i can see maybe banning nitrous, not that it would stop people anyhow but banning s/c and nitrous means banning cars from the factory..

I think people are misreading the way the law is written. If it is considered OEM then it is legal. The only thing they are banning is the aftermarket products. You could still buy or own an Eclipse GSX. You couldn't however add a larger turbo setup, an intercooler, larger injectors...... If it comes that way from the factory you are ok if not it is illegal.
At least that is the way I am reading it.

Yes most all trucks have turbos but they come factory so that wouldn't matter. I don't think it will pass.
