I posted this in the performance section, but I felt kinda noobish asking there, so ill post one here too.

I got a question.
My exhaust is too loud. I've already gotten a ticket for it.
I want to get the injen cai, but I dont want it to get any louder.
So i was thinking of a silencer.
I know nothing about silencers.
Anyone know
1) how much it is-silencer and the install(if any)
2) where do i get it- in stores? or is it all custom
3) do they make it for the model of the exhaust or do they make it by the diameter of the tip
4) after i get it, do i just pop it in, or does need to be welded or something. is it something i can just pop in and take out whenever
5) How does it affect peformance wise.
6) sound- is it gonna sound stock, pretty loud, pretty quiet, nasty

Any input would REALLY be appreciated, thx

I used this "silencer" on my CAT Back Straight Pipe to tone it down some.

They can be had at SummitRacing.com

You want to install it where your custom pipe welds or (bolts) to the existing pipe, towards the motor not the tail. You may wanna ask local exhaust shop to install so it, but it wasn't that hard.

Quieted down my straight pipe with no discernable loss of power.

I've looked all over the web and this thing is the only "in pipe" silencer I could find. Car is low and rumbly at cruise and screams when hammered. I've been pulled over twice (speeding) and both times shut car off immediately and Cop said nothing about exhaust. Loud is fun especially in a tunnel
