Okay.. so i have the +03 HID Housings, now is it worth swapping out the lenses with lets say Acura TSX lens? anyone done this in the past? is it really worth it, please post pics... i wanna see the before and after shoots... and how hard is it.. also would the leveling motor work with with the swapped lens...?

you already have hids.... how much better can they get? i would spend time doing something that would make more of a difference, especially if you are nervous about opening your headlights( i am too)

As long as you heat the headlights up enough they are not hard to get open. Heat them up in the oven (wrap them in a rag or something) and use a screw driver or knife to pry them open from the bottom of the headlights. Go slow and if it gets too hard just put them back in the oven so you don't crack them. Make sure you get them sealed up real good before you put them back on tho.

If I spent $500 on 03 HID housings, I sure as hell wouldn't open em. Non-HID headlights already look damn good with HIDs, so 03 would be plenty good enough!

whats the difference between buying 03 hid housings and just getting hid's in non-hid housings?

sorry for noob question

Its easy man, Just preheat the oven to about 320F. Then turn it OFF, put a towel on the rack and stick your headlight in there for 10 minutes. Then take it out and start prying, start at the top. Remember to take out all the necessary screws and rubber components that may melt before hand. If its still too hard, stick it back in the oven. Where are you located? I'm at Mavis/Rathburn, if you need a hand. I will be painting my other set of headlights maybe nextweekend aswell.

Perfect.. Just make sure you take out the towel before you heat the oven again.

:ugh: or have a fire extinguisher handy.

the 03 headlights are ehhh normally the lenses i took picture of they are washed out which will make the cutoff not as sharp or the output not as good.
putting clear lenses on them is a world of difference.
if you dont have the guts to do it then dont the less people with this the better for originality.
the cutoff with the tsx lenses is so nice and sharp and makes a lot of color and you can remove the slip inside the headlight that makes a spot above the cutoff that is annoying.
