bash it if you wish... just a personal preference here, it looks a lot cleaner than having the Automatic gear markers on the side which looked a little out of place anyway...

if u get an aftermaket shifter it will look much better....

Yeah I'm planning to get an aftermarket shift knob down the road but its hard to find an affordable shift knob with the OD button. It's a fairly easy mod to do, just remove the plastic surrounding the shifter and then put the shifter through the boot, and wrap the bigger part of the shift boot around the plastic panel where the knob is. Bought the boot at Pep Boys (yes everyone's favorite store) for $30
