I've had my fibre galss body kit sitting the basement for 2 months, and I'm wondering if I should get it painted now, in the dry cold weather, or wait till spring (which I'm araid may be to humid). The temperature has been averaging -10 to -15 Celsius (14 to 5 Fahrenheit) this past month. And now it's finally starting to snow.

Anyone have experience in this area?

Thanks for your responses.

it all depends on who is doing it. if you have a shop do it in a heated building and by someone that knows what they are doing then it can be done...are you going to be painting it yourself or having a body shop do it for you?

If you're doing it yourself in a non-heated environment...wait.

Thanks for the advice. I'm planning to have it painted by a shop that is hopefully heated. But would anything happen if it was painted in a heated room and then taken out into the cold weather? Would the paint crack and peel from the cold?

On second thought, maybe I should avoid any screw ups and wait for spring.
Is there anything I can do in the meantime for preperation before handing it over to the paint shop.

As long as the paint has had enough time to settle and cure before being taken outside, you should be fine. Just don't rush to get it on your car right away after it's been painted.

In the meantime, you can sand your pieces down a bit.

figure out the direct color, um figure out what body mods are going to be done like shave door handles, etc , if you are getting diff headlights get the new bulbs in and ready so they can just swap them out when ready, if getting new style hood get it now so they can put it on after the painting if carbon fiber and let them align it
