ABS Plastic eyelids

anybody got those? I got mine in the mail today and it is not fitting. I think it is becuase my headlight is off center - There is a very small gap between the headlamp and the fender, but the gap between the headlamp and the hood is 2-3 times larger. The eyelid can fit on the hood side of the light, but not the top or fender side. Is it possible to unbolt the headlight and move it around to create a uniform gap all around the headlamp?

You can kinda see how it wont go down covering the headlight tip.

Or is there any other way to get them to fit? I want to get them to fit before I paint them.

Maybe this is a bad idea, and even I wouldn't trust myself without someone's better judgement.. but would you be able to take a heat gun and get that stuff warm enough to bend so you can kinda shape it a little bit? If that would work, I'd say try it.

take out the headlight...and squeze them in...make sure you don't crack the plastic though...thats how i test fitted it. i didn't like them so i sold them.....so i don' have pics or proof, but you don't have to take my advice..that's just how i did it for the test fit

Get the TRD ones. I have em and the fit was good, the only part I did not like was the narrow space of glass on the side of the headlight between the headlight and the fender is not totally covered and you would notice the glass at night lit. My bud made me a vinyl strip that cured that space. (red car even)

Toyota Guys still have TRD's in White (which is rare) They cost $, but $180 to make a $20,000 car look unique is worth it in my distorted world. Free Shipping on orders of +$25 and no sales tax. Expensive, but my order went smooth.

Same problem for me, I bought those off of ebay and the fit is weird. Im gonna **** with it tho. How did you end up sticking them on the car, to secure them?

i unbolted the headlight, and moved it so it would fit, and grinded the top hole so the headlight would be a little more towards the center. so there is more of a gap between the light and the fender.

I have these same covers. One of mine didnt fit perfectly so I whipped out the Dremel and grinded the inside top part where it curves. It was pretty thick there, thats why it didnt fit. After a few minutes of grinding it snapped right on. BTW pokgai - whats the deal with the plastic box over your covers while you painted them???

He probably didn't want something to touch them.. I know around here there's lot of curious bugs that would like to get stuck.. I'm gonna have fun painting my engine plastics.. :\

Probably to prevent dust getting on the paint while it's still wet.

I got them on ebay. Do a search for like "celica eyelids" or "celica eye lids" or "celica eyebrows" you get the picture, until you see them. I think they seller lowered the price (bastard) to liek $16.

The plastic box was to prevent dust. Dust is your worst enemy when it comes to painting. I sprayed, then quickly covered them.

Haha, I received mine about a week ago and it came with two
driverside covers. :( I sent them back and he's sending me another pair this week. And, yes. I test fitted them and will have the same problem as you guys. The don't fit good on the fenderside of the headlight.

I cannot figure out how to move the head lamp out so that i can get these things to fit! any suggestions? I want to get them all ready to go on so that after they are painted they will be good to go.

Damn knockoffs!!!I got a TRD replicas a while ago through GP and i wasnt satisfied at all.The lower part didnt fit fllush with the light which cause the 3M to come off.I took them off,if somebody want them i'lll sell them cheap.I'm getting the originall TRD's.
