Well I got new 17" rims and tires and now Im ready to lower my car maybe 1" or so. What are some good springs? What is the differance between springs and coilovers? Is it expensive to have this installed at a shop and will any shop do or is this a hard thing to install? Thanx for the info. :)

Regarding the springs/coilovers it all depends on what you like... For that drop that you are considering (1inch or so) I would go with Eibach Pro Kit or TRD (its one and the same thing really)... If you go more than that you would need to purchase some new shocks after some time... Anyway I hope that helps... Later...

TRD springs, Eibach Pro Kit, HKS Super Form, H&R, are all about 1.5" drops.

So I wouldnt need anything more than the springs if I was only gonna drop it 1" - 1.5"? Do you know around how much it would cost to get it installed at a shop? Thanx!

Anti Sway/Roll bars would be cool but its not needed... If you know someone that can do it for you thats what I would advise you to do... Install at a shop would probably run you like $150-$300 or so before you buy the springs/coilovers ask the shop if they will install it for you... Some shops are really anal about installing springs that you buy some place else... After installing the springs you will need to get a wheel alignment also and after that you're set... Later...

If a 1" drop is what you're looking for, I'd also consider Tanabe Super H springs.

IMO,
TRD is the way to go. Nice drop of 1.25 all around. Tananbe H springs are another option as well. I say go for TRD. You will like it with your 17"

Just got to price around man. I got everything, springs, install, and everything done for $320 for eibach sportlines. Wish that I got the Hotchkis springs now though. Keep scraping on speed bumps and ****.

when you lower your car the angle of the wheels are changed (camber), therefore you need to get an alignment to correct it.

will local stores lower the car and do an alignment for you? How much would I be paying for labor/alignment?

Mac340 has the right idea I have the some ones and I love um I have 18" rims and I still have a small gap and It is a 1.5 also 40 ser tires, I would get a 2" drop if I had 17" witch I did before and I dident see a big difference.

Hey SilverCelicaGTS, what part of NC are you in? I'm in Charlotte and I'm gonna be installing my springs in the next couple weeks. If you want you can tag along and see the procedure or whatever. Don't waste your money on getting them installed. I've heard it's not that hard and there are install guides here:
