first post ever.. for some reason i thought i signed up here a couple months ago but i guess i'm crazy. i drive (drove) an 00 GT until two weeks ago. pulling out at a blind intersection i got hit by an F150 going about 55.

that doesn't even really show how much damage it really did. i think it came out at around 5k to repair it. needless to say it will be much prettier when i get it back :wiggle:

Damn, that sucks. Is it even worth it to repair it? It looks like your axle is bent. My sister bent the axle on her saturn, and my parents just sold it for parts because it cost almost as much to repair as it was worth. $5,000 is a lot. If it's like an 00 gt, it might not be worth it.

the car is worth like 8.5k or something, low mileage. 5k is a lot but it's worth it to me, insurance is covering it. the insurance company decided i wasn't at fault so my rates aren't going up, plus i've got an uncle who owns a shop.. he's become a dealer for a couple of companies and it's saved ton.

Oh well if insurance is covering it and you got a hook up, then that's cool. Good luck and I hope everything works out okay for you and your celi!

Sorry that happened! But, as was stated above, since you have some hookups and insurance is paying for it, why don't use that extra cash for some engine mods? Look for a 6-speed tranny and 2zz motor and go GTS...while still paying GT insurance rates.
That's what I'm doing this year. I'm looking forward to it.
Welcome to the board and I hope everything goes better for you from now on!

5k? pffft. I got into an accident in december that was 11k. The damage was all exterior, no mechanical. Spun out in the rain while on the highway doing about 70 mph, hit the middle barrier where the cables are. After two months in a body shop, and a lot of headache with the dumbass shop, I finally got it back.

Glad you're okay. I hope your car comes out as good as new or better.
