Just wondering how it performs... I'm getting my front end repainted next week, to get rid of the 200 plus rock chips I have.
I was quoted by DC Auto, at $300 for custom cut, with installation. And while I think that is a fair price, to save my paint at least... I was wondering if there are any setbacks to having this put on...
Such as, discoloration of paint, or fading, or the film turning yellow... or something.
Also, is it noticeable? Highly noticeable?
Thanks.
Chiggy
Chumpchiggy, I have StonGuard on my ITR and I love it. It's noticeable only if you get really close to the car of if the sun is just right to show the line of demarkation between the material and the paint. I highly recommend it. Try looking them up online at
http://www.stongard.com
or call them at 1-800-350-4897
They are asking $445 for a full kit for the 2000 thru 2002 Model Year Celica. Definitely get the Stongard Lights which cover your lenses. Phenomenal. They're guaranteed to stop 140 mph pebbles...

I had to get a new paint job because of chips on the hood. I was considering the 3M product, but definately decided against it when I saw it on a white camry in the showroom. There is a definate line halfway up the hood where it ends, an unsmooth surface, and a bit of discloloration. Its bumpy all the way across which sticks out on the smooth paint. It is so obvious that it would detract from the appearance. Plus it costs so much that it would be cheaper to have the hood repainted a second time.

It's over off of American Pacific and Gibson... in the "Black Mountain" office district... Building number 17 I think, all the way in the back.

The 3M is great stuff. I threw some of it on my WW front lip after having it repainted. One of the best investments I've made.
