I'm thinking about getting new tires soon and i live in southern Cali where there is little rain, but i was thinking of something like the stock tires in terms of cost and size. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

ugh... what rims do you have? 15 inch steels, 15 inch alloys, 16 inch alloys?
These tires are good for 15 inch alloys,,, dont know much about the 16's
195/60-15 <~~ stock size
205/55-15 <~~ stock size on certain cars
225/50-15 <~~I have these and they're great
205/50-16 <~~ stock size for GT-S
225/45-16?

My bad, it's for the 16 inch wheels.
The PZeros, SP9000s, S0-3s are all down to around 128 bucks each.
do NOT cheap out and get RE730s or ECSTAS or Nittos and the like! The celi's best feature is it's handling.

Bridgestone Potenza S0-3, i saw tests among equivalent Michelin's and Pirelli's and Dunlop's and rank #1 .
205/50-16. Best for the place where you live. Around $130 each.

I just got S0-3's shipped from tirerack for 127$ each. Stock yokos are pretty good too but for a little bit more money you can get great tires.

exile that's the width of the tire from sidewall to sidewall in millimeters.

I was checking on tirerack and people were saying that s-03s were dope tires but that they didn't last that long. I'm looking for some tires that will last more like 30,000 miles or so, and i don't need ultra -high performance tires either :P

I just got my Kuhmo 712s today. I had to go with them because everywhere I went it would take a few days to get the Toyo T1-S, fortunately my friend works for a discount tire and was able to get me the kuhmos for 85 each. They handle almost just as good as the stock Yokos but I gotta test them in the rain. I hope to wear these out soon so I can get the Toyos soon.
Don't expect to wear the 712s out any time soon. They are probably good for 40k miles. Not as good as stock yokos on dry pavement. Much better on wet. If you can afford it, go with the best dry performance in So. Cal. On a budget the 712s are a good choice.

You can't wait 3 days for the tires you really want? face it you're a cheapskate!
And why doesn't it surprise me, erok, that the 712s aren't as good as the stockers. that's pretty pathetic. But , hey, you get what u pay for.
"it's a good tire FOR THE MONEY"....that's like saying Jeffrey Dahmer's a good-looking guy FOR A SERIAL KILLER!"
SO WHAT!!!!!

Sorry but some people don't have mommy and daddy paying for all their stuff. Son, I don't think waiting 3 days for tires is being a CHEAPSKATE when you had the money to buy the other tires up front (cash BTW) but I don't think I would wait anymore if it means risking my car gettin into an accident when you are sliding in the rain which happened to me last week, notice the steel starting to show and didn't have the time during the week since you get off work when the stores closed and your weekends are all booked up from obligations. So far the 712s are fine with me and feel just as good as stock, and if it rains soon here in Southern Cali I'll find out if they are better in the wet then the stock Yokos. If you also read the reviews on this board there are more positive reviews on the Kuhmos then negative (I think yours was the only negative one I've seen Merv). At least now I can get my sway bars now with the money I saved.

So what tires do you have? Hoosier DOT road racing, I hope...otherwise you just have serial killer tires too. So what if you have to change them every few hundred miles...money doesn't matter to you.
