Hey guys thought I'd post this. Just got off the phone with Daymond from Turbo Performance. Spent a little over 30mins speaking to him about the GT kit he is selling. Let me start by saying he was very helpful and answered every single one of my questions. He suggested that anyone who is having doubts about anything that has to do with his kit call him at 818.994.7087
As everyone knows the kit retails for $3400 and comes standard with a T3 turbo, spearco intercooler, piping, downpipe, BOV, and intake. The turbo is regulated to 6psi but is capable of 18psi. Again, everyone knows this.
Now to the part that hasn't been discussed. He is getting the GT turbo dyno'd and we can expect to have results within two weeks, he can't have them hurry it along because this is being done as a favor. He does have pictures of the set up inside the engine bay. He is waiting for his webmaster to post the pictures(I know I know) and that should be done shortly. He understands people want to see pictures and dyno results and he is doing the best he can so hang in there guys. He has sold roughly 12 kits already and has had the turbo on a Celica for a little more than 8months. No problems reported and yes, the car has been run hard. Realistically this kit *should* put down 200-210 on pump gas(91 octane) to the front wheels at 6psi. Thankfully since I live in Fairyland(maryland) we get 93-94 octane here so this should be no problem at all. We talked briefly about the GT-S and because of the CR he is thinking more along the lines of 50whp increase, who knows maybe a little or lot more. They are working on that now. I spoke to him about a group buy at $2800 and he doesn't recall hearing or saying anything like that, maybe if a group of 8,9,10 people got together this could happen. If you want the kit discounted you can have him remove some parts and work from there. This is an option of course. If kept at 5-6psi this kit should produce absolutely no problems whatsoever. 200fwhp in a 2400lbs. car is a hell of a lot.
I am trying to get funds together and see if I can purchase this by weeks end, if not sometime next week. Anyway I thought you guys should know.

no problem guys. i am trying to get the funds together, i already spent a boat load for the beach this weekend (we all rented a beach house) and i AM getting this. i have the money for nitrous and some other goodies right now but 200 to the wheels is too damn hard to pass up. besides...letting off the gas and hearing the BOV! full wood everyone (ok that's more than anyone needed to hear LOL)
Larry, do you think we'll have traction problems with 200 to the wheels??? by the way which BOV are you running? a lot of DSM guys use the Greddy Type S and i absolutely love that one! sounds like it's crying....my brother has the HKS SS on his supra and it's freaking loud but i want something different

I have been running 240hp on my GTS for over a year now and have not had any problems. Traction is bad in 1st, sometimes bad in 2nd depending on the pavement and temperature. 200hp should be no problem for you.

yes i think youll have major traction issues at 200whp.. on the Celica.. and i have a Greddy S Type BOV as well ;)

do you guys think it will kill the GT if you add 50 shot n2o w/ the turbo?

without fuel i'm going to go ahead and say yes. if they could've run more boost on this engine without the fuel i'm sure they would have, but 5-6psi is safe and enough for me.

T3 turbo is biggest they can go for celicas?
how about T3/T4 hybrid? drag 3 turbo?

if i put low compression pistons, you think i could run 15-20psi in my gt??
ToyoGT

I think you'd need to do a little more than low compression pistons to run that much. You have to remember to add a fuel system. You can add a turbo that is capable of 32-33psi but unless you have the proper fuel system (not to mention built motor) you are pretty much asking to blow your sh!t up :)

No it's not the biggest but that's the turbo that comes with the kit, either that or the T4. If i'm not mistaken the Drag III turbo kit is for Honda/Acura cars.

now... a turbo on a gt.... @ 200fwhp, would it really have traction problems if the turbo wasn't spooled up yet?
I mean.. do you really have to launch that hard? I kinda doubt it.

Would an LSD fix the traction problems of a turbo'd GT if there are any?
DJ_GLITCH_OS

It would help, but not totaly fix the problem,
ALso I plan on getting this kit asap.
But its not like I have $3500 just sitting in a glass jar.
More than lily I will be bossting by the end of the summer.
Does any one know how long the waiting list is if there is any??

200whp in a 2400lb car is a lot of power, but it's not enough power! That's one of the downfalls you'll seldom hear brought up when it comes to turbos -- it's way too easy to get addicted to your current power levels and want 100hp more. :)

You bring up a great point. When my brother got his Supra he said he would be happy with just BPU, but after a couple of months he got "used" to the power wanted more. Now he is running low 11's and wants MORE! LOL i completely understand what you're saying

With the turbo you could get out to the country more quickly! Go turbo and catch up to your pals later!

LOL yeah i wish but after hearing you have to cut and weild sh!t with this kit, forget about it. besides that kinda made my decision easier, i ordered nitrous and koni struts and still have money for the trip so it all worked out, but no vrrrrroooooooooooooom PSSSSHHHHHHHH :( but that's ok, i'll wait for WCT's setup.

who said you had to cut and weld anything. you guys should call the shop personally and ask them about the manifold. they said there was no cutting or welding. It was a straight bolt on.

for a turbo kit you would have to tap a oil feed into the oil pan to return the oil from cooling the turbo.. the WCT kit is going to come with a new oil pan that is pre-tapped..
