i think i messed up my clear coat. Going home from Sacramento my car was covered in bug guts. I was planning to clean it right after but i was too tired. I didn't get around to cleaning it until a week and a half later. Now the spots where the bugs were are all dull. I think the bug guts ate up my clear coat. Is there anything i can do to fix this problem?

Probably didn't eat the clear coat, just the wax. Do a complete wash/clay bar/wax cycle and everything will most likely be fine.
I have read on a few message boards to spray the front with a light coat of PAM cooking spray before heading out on long road trips. The bugs just wipe right off!

If you had a coat of wax on the car before the trip, you really shouldn't have much of a problem. Also, I had a problem similar to this and I used Turtle Wax Scratch and Haze Remover and it came off and looked like new. I wouldn't worry about it. Just wash it, scrub on it harder than other areas, then wax it.

Don't scrub too hard!!! You'll end up scratching the clear coat. You need to soften those suckers up. See if you can get a wet towel to drape over the area. Let it sit there 30min-1hr to soften them up, then wash using light elbow grease. If there aren't any body parts stuck on, just stains, wash and head directly to the clay bar.
Expand the number of days posts that you can view out to 20 (scoll bar at bottom of forum page). There have been numerous threads titled "how do I clay bar" and "best wax to use", with very helpfull info. Best of luck.
