Hey all. I just installed a Clarion VRX610 Headunit and a Soundstream DVD player. I got it all set up but I am having some problems with my whole audio setup. I have a Directed amp and 2 Pioneer Premier subs. I'll draw a diagram to help with understanding.

Headunit.......Audio-To amp and subwoofers
_______ ......|
|______|-------- Audio-To iPod
.................|
DVD Player |
_______ ...... Audio/Video Out from DVD and in to Headunit
|______|----|

Now, when I have my FM radio on, it plays through the front speakers, and the subwoofers.

When my iPod is on, it only plays through my back seat speakers.

When the DVD player is on, it plays like my radio: through the front speakers and subwoofers.

How is this possible?

And please ignore the .... It won't let me have a succession of spaces between words.

How did you connect your IPOD to the unit? I'm looking at the manual and it looks like the 4 RCA cables are ALL Output connections, which means its suppose to go to an amplifier...

I hooked my iPod up through one of the rear RCA audio connectors.

You probably hooked it up to the Rear-In RCA connector. My deck has front- and rear-in RCA jacks. The problem is you will only hear sound out of the front or rear speakers, never the sub (well, on mine, thats how it was - Sony CDX-GT805).

Well I am hearing my DVD audio out of the front speakers and the subwoofers, and then my music out of JUST the rear speakers.

So this is how its working:

DVD-Front Speakers

iPod/Radio-Rear Speakers

DVD-Subs

And if my iPod is in fact plugged in to an RCA-out cable, how am I hearing it play?
