What do u think will look better for my widebody kit:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/mustanggtis4me/newwide.jpg
(imagine the picture above having wider fenders, deep dish wheels, and a bomex front)

Keep the trd wing or go with the APR GT300 spoiler:

I think a wider spoiler on a wide body kit would look better.

Go with the APR wing, it would look better with the wide-body.
BTW, what kind of bumper is that in the 1st pic? It looks like a TRD with the grille filled in. Pretty badass looking bumper.

I think that the TRD wing flows better with what you are planning on doing.

I voted for the trd wing, but then again I would have to see the end product before I make any decisions :)

I would get the APR, but how about wingless? It would look exotic with your wide body.

Blah...keep the TRD wing. It goes with the angular lines of the Celica the best. Once you get the APR wing, it's going to have a really ricey look from the back, even though it'll look great from the front like the APR Celica. Look into a carbon fiber hatch instead of the wing and go wingless ;) . I think that would look good.

I say go for the RMM or Veilside spoiler, def. ditch the TRD wing....

Veilside spoiler would be hot...then wingless would be my next choice...then APR...then the TeRD wing.

yes trd spoiler would be too small for widebody...

silverCELICAgt-s
03-23-2007, 11:22 AM
i refuse to go wingless, i like having a spoiler and at shows its always a plus to have a spoiler.

if your not going to go wingless get the apr.... although I think wingless could be sweet. Post this poll again once your car is done so we could get a better idea of what it's actually going to look like. Canot wait to see it finished btw!

silverCELICAgt-s

spoiler is going on before its done so i have to make my decision because if I go with apr they have t shave the nips off the trunk and repaint the trunk.

If you get rid of your TRD i would love to take it off your hands as long as it would fit on the a GT. PM me if you get rid of it..

silverCELICAgt-s
03-23-2007, 11:42 AM
trd wings fit on gt or gt-s, there is no guarantee i am getting rid of it at this point. But if i were I would not be taking anything less then $300 (not including shipping) because as more and more trd celicas get junked or crashed, less and less trd parts become available, i just recently sold my trd front for $500.00.

There is a guy in hawaii selling his apr gt300 wing so i am very tempted!

You should have a "make the desicion yourself" option in the poll. ;)

why not a custom spoiler for a custom car....i think you are going for the lamborghini gallardo look right? with the side vent and window vent from other lambo..the gallardo has mainly a wingless look..but some have a spoiler like thishttp://img524.imageshack.us/img524/6105/lamborghini20gallardo20gs9.jpghttp://img64.imageshack.us/img64/2724/lamborghini20gallardo20mv6.jpghttp://img338.imageshack.us/img338/3015/lamborghini20gallardo20ic7.jpg...and the hamann lambo has this carbon fiber wing..its a shorter and curvyhttp://img338.imageshack.us/img338/8283/hamannlamborghinigallarjc3.jpg

go with the APR because the Bomex front will look a little off with the TRd wing, bomex kit always goes well with the APR type wing so go with that and the wide body will make the TRD wing look too small.

told you this already but ill tell everyone else as well...the way i see it is that you are have all these sharp edges all over the car. the trd wing would help keep the sharp edges better the the gt wing since its just a straight piece across the back pretty much. my vote is to stay with the trd wing and keep the sharp edge look like you plan on having pretty much.

I would go with a custom spoiler. Maybe use the APR blade and have some custom brackets that attach it closer to body alla Do-Luck. Like this:

I'm not big on the APR piece...I'd stick with TRD. It's rotund enough to go with a widebody look and still not be to wild.

03-24-2007, 10:44 AM
mount the apr spoiler on to the trd blade... haha two spoilers are better than one lol JK
Trial > APR > Veilside v2 > rest of the park bench...
if u really want to be different, u can always put the J's Racing cf spoiler on(but dont put the J's Racig sticker on). it looks really nice... BUT it is a honda part... but then again, ppl are putting mugen lips on their tsunmi(sp) fronts.

APR wing is too big.

How about the Veilside RSX wing?

the apr widebody can barely pull off the apr wing without being ridiculous. if those were the two choices i'd favor the trd.

i would've fancied the apr widebody rather than the custom but we'll just have to see the upcoming end result from the shop when done...

defiantly apr wing, nothing is left stock on the car , so why should the spoiler be, apr wing will bring out the widebody. btw love the do-luck supra and 350z wing, that wing is killer if i had th money i would get tomorrow. nice photoshop

I think spoilers like that completely ruin the awesome look of a widebody..I've never seen one of them I've ever liked..I think you should get a brashboy lip spoiler like porto said that would look awesome widebody and wingless, it'll be like a 350z kinda

bman365
03-25-2007, 03:02 PM
yea i think no wing..like i was saying with the lambo idea up there..but he said he wanted a wing for shows...if i ever get to body work on my car..i wanna do something like thishttp://img116.imageshack.us/img116/8194/mainvl1.jpg

silverCELICAgt-s
03-25-2007, 03:17 PM
sadly if u want attention at shows big vs. small spoiler, usually the bigger one is what people go for with shows. IMO brashboy is just too small of a spoiler for this aggressive look that the car is going with.

yello2k3
03-25-2007, 03:19 PM
oh i didnt know you were doin it for shows, well then I guess whatever gets you the wins then, the trd will probly look too small like everyone said so i guess go with the apr (hah i cant believe I just said that)

The APR looks great on the APR because APR did it that's an exception. You're going completely custom. Give credit to yourself I give credit and time you're thinking about this and it does reflect on how the end result will turn out. Your putting so much work in your car in my opinion I never liked to love any of those high rise low drag wings ever since they were created remember I say like not hate. They remind me of those single or double deck aluminum spoilers everyone use to rock 12 years ago instead they just refined the look in CF with curves in the middle and end pieces on the sides with a little more adjustability options.

They do look great on drift cars and JGTC but that's it. Your car has this exotic look with the side vents and scoops especially the way the side body rounds out in the photoshop pictures you've produced. If your car turns out exactly like your chop I would go with a custom spoiler that sits low to the side body line of your window scoop. You have so much custom work your shooting for. I don't see why not make a one off spoiler something someone doesn't have off the idea's above.

Back then those high spoilers were so cool you could even custom make your end pieces like we use to do by having them laser cut to the body lines of the car. But after awhile it got repetitive even at shows every car would look like a Toy or an R.C. car it would just ruin the entire look all the focus would be on that spoiler not the car. I started to turn away from it after that huge fad.

I've always been a fan of sleek low mid wings that don't block your vision. That don't weigh down your car. Something that fits like it belongs their. None of those spoilers follow the lines of the Celica. I don't care how high to the sky they go either. They just look like they were thrown on their. But I do love how the APR sports it on the Celica since they rear flare on their widebody protrudes where you're doesn't your car is a full panel flushed to the side quarter.

When I modify my car I want it to have an everlasting look for myself not something I will get tired of the next day.

Maybe some advice if you do plan on getting a CF wing like those above I would think about how wide your going you don't have to get a wider spoiler to line up with the body since your car will all be smooth and flush. Just something that sits right, looks great, performs well. If you want the wider CF wing I don't think it would hurt just don't over extend it beyond the width of your Celica I think that is terrible.

1. Two things you can think of a spoiler that sits high where the length from end to end lines up with your side body panels and the width levels out just enough to the back end of your bumper but doesn't stick out to much. The end plates match the shape of the curves on your widebody and the angle of the wing sit perfect. One main reason I don't go for those wings is because I see a ton of cars with them where they aren't adjusted right and thrown on their again like I state above.

2. My main concern with those wings is the length and placement from the rear it looks strange. It's not that I hate them I do like them on some cars. But some suggestions maybe a CF hood to blend in with it and a black top roof not two tone just the roof so you can accent them together. So it doesn't stick out so much. If you're planning on keeping the car all one color don't do it. From those photochops you've done that's a ton of body work around the windows and sides and I'd hate to see you ruin it with a spoiler that won't look right you're car is going to have an elegant exotic look why not enhance the rear hatch a bit as well you've practically done the whole car I'm still curious how the rear end is going to turn out to complete the overall? I can't decide right now. I like the chop you've done with the low APR wing and how it hugs the body of your car that's my choice for now. You have so many options though. I'm trying to think of a way that TRD wing will look a little more custom maybe.

Anyway, whatever you do be happy I don't care what people think of my car. Whether it's at a show, cruising on the streets, whether you win or loose. All I care is if I go home happy at the end of the day and not bored while cruising my Celica. If can't drive it, better yet turn the car on why build it??? lol Shows get boring and repetitive if you don't enjoy it but keep your passion for the show scene so you don't get discouraged and loose all motivation by what others do and say. And trust me someone will always have something to say about your car even if you don't like it or not. I can't wait to see how your project turns out in the end it already exceeds a ton of Celica's exteriors I've seen.
