Yesss! I'm finally getting a celica! Getting it on friday. It's a 2000 white 6spd gt-s. The car only has 15000 miles and looks brand new inside and out. Paying 18000 dollars is that a pretty good deal? Oh also has 6 yr exctended warrenty. Some old gu owns it so I know it has not been abused to much.

Before I bought this car I had A chance to drive two 2000 model celicas and one brand knew 2002. Heres my Question, the 2002 felt like the clutch was lighter and had adiferent feel compared to the older ones. The pedal feel was smoother compared to the 2000. The 2k models have more of a springy clutch feel than the knew one.
Also hitting lift on the 2002 was much more noticible that the older two that i drove. I felt lift in all 3 cars but the 02 felt like it had much more kick at the change over. The rev limiter sucked in the 02 though. Overall the 02 felt quicker than the 2000's until it hit the limiter. Does lift just become less pronounced as the car ages? Thanks for the info guys and I'm sorry this was so long.:)

I paid 19.5k on a new 2k gts with under 200 miles on it ...... end of the year deal.....

warrenty sounds good

The lift doens't get less pronounced, but in 2000 it kicked in at 6000 rpm where the pwoer was virtually identical in lift as out of lift. At some point, it appears the crossover was moved to 6200 rpm where there is just a plain old big kick.

Adding a TRD exhaust to a 2000 model gives a big boost right at 6000.

The clutch on 2002 felt softer cuz it was tooooo brand new... wait until you break that in then it will feel just like used 2000. 2000 models are tad faster than 2002 due to rev limiter and fuel cut...at least that is what I have heard... and 19000 seems a bit high... unless it is out the door price..

I would try to get the price down to about 16000-17000, that would be a good deal. Haggle with him.

Even with me paying 18000 he still has to pay the bank 5000 just to get out of debt for the car. He screwed himself over and got way upside down on the car.

It's probably worth the extra grand if you know the car has not been abused, and it is really clean.

They sold my 2000 White 6speed with 20k miles for $15,900 at the dealer. Originally they had $20k on it but since it didn't sell they marked it down to $18k, then finally $15,900. I wouldn't pay $19k for one now, warranty or not.
