So, my front left Falken Ziex had a blowout yesterday. Off I go to Discount Tire, buy a pair of Kumho Ecstas and sit there and wait for them to put them on.
The sales guy, who was really nice, starts talking to me about siping, showing the examples, describing the advantages. I've heard about siping, but mostly from the off-roaders. It costs $10/tire, and seems like an interesting idea, but does anyone have any personalexperince doing this? Care to share?

i hydroplaned once on regular, unsiped tires....after that i Only ride with siped tires...

the logic of it sounds right...better grip while braking, running cooler, etc....but i doubt that my tires Not being siped was the main reason why i hydroplaned...but better safe than sorry..its only $40 anyways...

thanx
