Hey guys I recently bought my 00'gts from a dealer...I got the price lowered bout a G because the stereo was blown. I know it has the premium system but as far as i can tell every speaker except the tweets are blown to some degree. Basically I plan to replace the front and rear speakers with new ones (probibly alpine) along with a new deck. Ive read different plans of using the factory amp vs. cutting out the amp and runnin power straight from the deck. I just need to know which is the best (price and sound wise) to replace my deck along with new speakers....keep in mind I also already have a 10inch JL and infin amp i plan to hook up to this system upon install. Thanks in advance for the help you guys can give :)

If you can afford it, go with the "put in a new deck and a new amp, and tear out the stock amp" along with replacing the speakers, and either bi- or tri-amping them.

yeah I would jsut replace all the speakers. Get some alpine type R components, they are fairly affordably priced and sound pretty damn good. You can run new wires to your doors for the front speakers, and then to your headunit (or amp).

You can also get away without using a harness for the cd player, get a multimeter and find your power and mem lines, and then everything else you'll be rewiring though the speakers. Ground it and connect a remote/pwr antenna, and your done.
