Hey guys its that time again where i have to get my tabs renewed again but I have to also get my emissions done before that can happen. I just wanted to see what you guys think or maybe you have experience with this? I currently have a modified C2 stage One turbo kit and have heard that I will not pass emissions. I'm tempted to still try it my question is if you guys know whether I will pass or not or maybe have firsthand experience? I'm just not sure if I should even bother with this or just do it through my friend a "special" way :gap: any feedback would be appreciated thanks!

You can still go to the emission. You can still pass as long as your car is raised up to almost stock have a cat o2 sensor no leak in your exhuast and you should be fine? No smoke is coming out but each state is different from one another but i wish you the best and let us know how it is over there at the emissions.

Turn your boost down to 0 psi and cut back all your fuel and make it seem like it runs as a stock car =P

Then hope they give you a sniffer test intsead of the obd2 test.

... i'm not sure if i was being serious about that or not.. haha

^^That don't work. No matter how low he is it is still at least 6psi since that is the spring setting on the turbo. Just spend a few bucks and get "special" test done.

Just leave the intercooler pipe from the throttle as a CAI and it wont see boost, and since that is the piece with the MAF he should not have any problems.

Specials are a plus, just got mine. :wiggle:

You could also disconnect the wastegate actuator leaving the wastegate door open, thus no boost. Your tune will need to be within the emissions requirements and make sure you have your cat connected for the exhaust section. If they do an OBD2 scan you will have to go back to stock ecu and stock injectors to pass.

And this is why I stuck with a piggy-back system on my Corolla. OBD2 test passes fine.

I have PFC. I know that they do OBDII here. What do you think is gonna happen? I'm gonna prob try to give it a shot tomorrow.

PFC doesn't support OBDII. You will fail right then and there.

I'd use a piggy back for the mean time if you can find one to borrow. Then load it with base C2 GTS map.

Pull your upper IC pipe, reinstall stock airbox, injectors and ECU. Go to emissions. Pass.

whats emissions?

i feel sorry for you guys that have to go through this every couple years. I figure the best way would be a friend in the business. Then you don't have to worry about touching your car. Or better yet find that old aunt that you never talk to that lives in nevada or somewhere without emissions and register your car there!

As you can see, every state has different emissions laws. In Illinois, if you live in the middle of nowhere, you don't have to emissions test your car. Since I live in the city, I simply have to pass an OBD-II scan test and a test to make sure the gas cap is working properly, no visual inspection.

Why don't you find out what your local emissions requirements are, then we might be able to offer you advice that's actually worth a damn.

very well said, their are many things you can do to glitch or trick the system and pass. just let us know your laws, and their procedure.
