Hey guys Im hella thanksful for all this site helps me with. I recently bought an 00 GtS with the prem audio, the front speakers were blown and the cd player skips when im goin above 70. I currently have a pair of Alpine type S 6 1/2s, an infinity amp and a JL 10in sub(takin out of my mr2) waiting to put in the celica
i basically need a new deck before I can hook it all up but ive heard different ways to connect. I would like to order off crutchfield(most likely) will this adapter work well to help me achieve my goal? or is there a more effective/better way to do this? (its the one they give for free with order)

Also when hooking up my alpines in the doors do I just use the 6in speaker wires and leave the other set untouched?
I am kinda confused on the whole install so any help would be gladly appreciated

Im pretty sure thats the harness you need. Before you do the install, though, youll need to do this (http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=166445) mod to the harness. Well, you dont need to, but it will help.
And yes, the stock wiring will be fine if youre using the stock amp (which it sounds like you will be doing).

Thanks for the help. So should I cut the 4in speaker wire off completely inside the door? I ordered the stereo last night so ill most likely be doin the install later this week.

^^^ Are you talking about the harness for the wires that plug into the stock speaker basket?
To me it sounds like you just want to change the blown front speakers, leave the rear speakers in place, and use 1 amp. What kind of amp is this? Did you want to use it to power the interior speakers or is it mainly going to be used for a mono to power your subs?
1. Do you have speaker adapter plates and lift rings? If you're planning on keeping the stock wiring and using it to connect to your new HU cut the harness for the speakers off I doubt you'll be using the stock speaker set up anytime soon??? Since you said you have 6 1/2'' Alpines already just hardwire it direct the plug won't be needed any more makes life easier and you won't need to wire new wires if you choose this method. If you want to put the stock speakers back one day save 2'' of wire to the harness plug if you want to re-wire the stock speakers again one day. That's if you want to salvage those stock speakers. You'll be needing to drill out the rivets carefully with the windows up then just pop the rivets out and remove those stock paper speakers out. I ran mine a different way. I'm assuming you have everything to install new speakers by the way.
2. If you're going to bypass the stock amp competely with a new HU a seperate amp and plan to power your interior speakers directly from the new amplifer you won't even need to cut or touch the stock wiring or those harness plugs off. Those wires are thin they work well with the stock HU but you can only get so much power out of them with entry level speakers. Definitely, run some better wire if you're using another amp and plan on setting up high powered speakers. Running new wire will be a bit more time consuming since you need to get the wires to and through the rubber boot in the front doors. The rears will be okay. Also, running the runs will depend all on where you place your amp/amps.
With my setup I wasn't planning on using speaker adapters brackets. You will still need some time of lift spacer to push the backside of you magnet forward or it will hit your windows and won't allow you to close it. I'm assuming you have the adapters along with spacers? I'm using 2 sets of JL XR Components and VRs they mount direct into the stock speaker basket without use of speaker bracket adapters. But I did have to cut the old speakers cone and magnet out of the basket. No need in drilling out the rivets best sound possible. I know for sure the diameter of these speakers will work with the stock basket. I dynamatted around the entire door front and rear as well. They sound excellent.
I guess it all depends on how you want your setup to perform, and sound. It can get really complicated. Good luck.

Man thanks for the help guys. Yea I will diffinitly never need the stock speakers again. The alpines are actually out of a friends car so they just 2 raw-ended wires comming off of them. How should I make mounting brackets? I have no problem cutting the stock speaker adapter and crimping the wires together. I do just have the single 300 watt infinity amp mono to a 10inch JL.
The deck I bought has 3 outputs so I think It should hookup to the amp and my sub just fine right?
But yes you were correct. I mainly just want to replace my front speakers, add a new deck and hookup my 1 sub with as little electric work as possible...sound quality is not the utmost important, I mainly just want it so sound decent with a lil bass
