WTB Stock Speakers Front GTS

My driver side speakers blew so I'm wondering if anyone has a spare or one they want to sell to me. I have an 04 GTS and it came with the JBL 8(?) speaker system so I just need the front component speakers. Thanks!

I just took the 6.5 in and 4 in speakers out of my doors. I have an 00 gts with premium sound system. I dont have the tweeters though. I dunno how much these go for, but pm me an offer.

why not just upgrade it?

wouldn't i have to replace/upgrade all speakers in order to have a more consistent sound. sounds a little expensive.

pending what your definition of exspensive is. IMO if you relace the defective speaker as a pair with something a little higher grade it wouldn't effect the "consistency" of sound. also you gotta subtract the cost of buying used speaker. and include the fact that your buying a USED speaker that might not match the sound quality of the other pair (rear). due to wear and tear. and the gamble of a used speaker breaking.

I know I have an '04 GTS too and my drivers went about 3 months ago. Now my passenger front blew. Whats up with the premium speakers blowing? I had my '02 Celica GT a little longer than I've had my GTS and never had problems with my sounds...

Is there a defect in them or what???

mine probably blew cuz I played my speakers loud and turned up the bass a bit. oh well, i've learned from my mistake. I can live with it for now as long as the volume is low. I guess when finals are over I'll look for an upgrade. Any recommendation for something close to stock sounds at a good price?

i know its wierd i have a loaded 04 gt with almost everything a gts has. The only thing i dont have is a moonroof (didnt want it) and leather. I got the premium sound system too and both my fronts blew. Sux (lol old thread i know ;) just wanted to put my two cents in and say WTF is up with the premium sound systems)

I KNOW exactly what you guys are talking about.... while some of your front speakers might have blown... some are probably NOT blown, but defected... I opened up my front side doors (been running that thing for 6months BLOWN, a month after i bought it) and finally decide to upgrade. I noticed that the speakers wasn't just blown, it was BLOWNED, like the rubbers came off everything, and i have premium speakers too...

in my theory, its our heavy doors that causes it... when people that rides with us slams the doors, or when we are in a rush and we slam the doors even slightly, you literally blow it with force, not just with dB... im guessing... still trying to figure out how to get rid of that metal thud sound when i close my doors... wrapping it with sound deadening is just too much work and im too lazy (-_-') so if your speakers are still NOT blown, tell people and yourself to NOT slam the door, maybe that will help, then ofcourse don't ride on the dB hard... but that's another story...

Wow, seems so long ago since I've blown my front driver side speaker. At least the tweeter still works :-) I'm going to live with the blown speaker because it's only a car speaker, i go home happy knowing i have home theater speakers to enjoy good quality sound.

Unless if someone wants to fix it for cheap, hehe, but seems like it would cost a lot of labor just to take the door apart.

wow. i never even knew this problem existed. I had a 2000 GT for about 3 years and never had a problem, not once. Maybe it is just the premium sound.

i'm pretty sure i don't have the premium sounds and mine have been fine...but i'm more of an engine sound lover than blasting music sound lover ;)
