I also wanted to know what i need to do to make it happen? Like what components do I need to do? Tell me the approximate price. I know it's not gonna be cheap. I just wanted to know the price so dont say "it's gonna be expansive" cus i know that.

i know this is the noob section...but searching will yield you some results...this topic has been discussed. It will cost you a hell of a lot...and you would be better off building up your 2zz engine or getting a different vehicle.

i know it will cost me a lot. I know that the amount of money to spend on it can give me a sweet tt supra and fixed it up but I love the celica look (espcially how my celica look like) and I would like it to be a sleeper. And i also know i can spend time searching these hard to find threads but i think it's easier if i just asked the question and you guys hook me up with the answers here.

I know many will post "dont waste your money on this slow car" but to tell you the truth, its about finding a car with the body you want and enjoy your hobbie by making it a beast. I personaly think my gt-s 6 speed manual is not as slow as people think and yes, I would love to built my 2zz but i do want to know the price on engine swapin.

^ouch is that for the all-trac conversion or just the FWD SW-20 swap?

I'd say buy a turbo :gap:

Man i'm right there with you, i love the celi body and i'm def. into sleeper, i'm painting the old girl black this summer and have some nice plans for th 1zz engine

here is my thread about everything your talking about from dogging on the celica and a 3sgte swap, i'm prob gonna end up doing the swap at some point but not til i'm at least a junior in college making some nice cash

I'm pretty sure for all the money you will spend to swap and build an 3S-GTE it will end up heavier, unbalanced, and probably not even as fast as a fully built 2ZZ...

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Sure, a real supra may be fast and an MR2 may have RWD, but the celi-sexy has got it going on... It would take a whole body-makeover the likes of what silvercelicaGTS is doing to his car for me to like any of those "fast" cars.

A turboed 3S-GTE has a lot of guts... I'd be willing to put your speculation to the test.

Stop being lazy and finding the easy way out :chuckles: The topic has been covered many times

Actually for someone who's thinking on going the difficult way out with a 3S-GTE swap, I would have thought you would search hehehe.

Anyways, the 3S-GTE has a lot of guts, but with MWR's 2ZZ hitting 500whp recently there isn't a lot of argument left for a 3S-GTE swap. I would also say that with the money you'll spend on the swap, you will get yourself a nice 2ZZ Turbo build.

read this... $13K+= high 10s

then look at MWR Celica with stock internals running high 11s, to me 1 sec isn't worth 10k, and imagine if they built the engine they are looking at 500+whp now the 11.9 was with low 400s

The only real problem is hooking up on launches probably but then again that is FWD for you.

thanks guys. It was a lot of help. I am probably going to look into builting a strong 2zz. I never knew that a 2zz can push up to 500 whp. That's pretty sick. My goal is to push the ride to alteast 450 whp. I dont really need anything more than that.

just build the 2zz, it's a better idea.

yeah 450whp should be enough for most situations.

That's inaccurate. Fensport invested ~60k into their AWD 3sgte conversion..

I was just using the info that was in the post... lol if that's true then I think that does an even better job of conveying how impractical it is then my conservative 13k estimate allready seemed to do.

Hmm... Wonder if the 1zz can reach 300hp

well... it can reach at least 508 fully built, because that is what MWRs MR-S that ran high 10s has in it, and it wasn't swapped for a 2zz.

It can, if you build the internals. The rods will break with ease.

14.7 psi of boost will about double your hp and tq outputs... so for 300 WHP you'd have to be running about 17-19 psi, and there is no way that the 1zz could do that safely on stock internals.

the 2zz maxes out at about 14 psi then the ring lands start to give. replace the pistons and your golden. That's what MWR did at least, and they did 500 hp on a stock exhaust!
