Spring Install Question

Well, I've decided on getting the Hotchkis springs within the next couple weeks and I'm determined to do the install myself. I've got a buddy who said he would help, and he said he's done it once before on an old truck or something.

Anyway, my question is concerning the install guide in the install section. Has anyone else used this for their install? Does it contain all the necessary information? Is there an easier way? It seemed that the directions contained a lot of difficult positioning and smacking stuff with hammers. Is this really necessary?

Any comments or further advice is greatly appreciated. I'm just trying to get as prepared as possible before the install and so far the only info I have to go off of is that one install guide.

I used the install guide over at nextcelica.net. it was great except for a few bolt sizes that may have been wrong or just changed since 2000.

Also, the install guide on the nextcelica.net suggests only remove the driver side exhaust hanger. However, in reality, both driver and passenger exhaust hanger needs to be remove.

Also, besure to get the detail instructions on how the stuct tower should be put together. It can be tricky. teamunison.com used to have it... but...

when I first lowered my car we never lossended up an exhaust hanger instead of removing the lower control arm bolt that is says to.... we removed the lower control link that runs towards the front of the car and that made it just as simple and avoided playing with the exhaust hanger
