I need to find some replacement tires for my mothers 2000 XJ8. She doesn't really care about grip, but values a smooth quiet ride. The dealership is offereing her two tires mounted and balanced for $350. I'm not sure what tires they are, but I think they may be the OEM Pirelli p6000e's. What does everyone suggest? The price the dealership is quoting me is rather high, I got 2 of my Toyo T1-S' for cheaper than that. OH and the tire size is 225/60-16

one of my friends mom had this same car and had the yokahoma avs db same size. We were actually just talking about this 2 days ago with his dad. He said they were decently sticky the ride was awesome and they lasted from July of 2000 when he got them mounted after having the car for maybe a week and they just got ride of the car about 2 weeks ago and I am told the tires still had plenty tread left. This car was her daily driver and he auto-xed it three times while his mustang gt was in the shop. He said he got them shipped fomr tirerack for just over 100 each and had them mounted locally. I just looked on the rack and the price is 96 each and they have got some decent scores on dry grip and comfort.

Thanks, but I couldn't find them on Tirerack, instead I found them on www.tires.com for $105 shipped. I have one question though, can I mix and match tires? The Jaguar has two p6000s that don't need replacment. Will having 2 Yoko AVS dbs be dangerous or cause any problems? Does anyone else have any ideas? Anyone else have comments on this tire or other tires?
Tirerack suggests: Bridgestone Turanza LS-Z and LS-Vs and the same Pirelli P6000s except they have a different tread pattern than the OEM P6000s.
and tires.com also has Dunlop SP Sport 5000 and Yokohama Guardex 600

if the car is just a daily driver and it's not going to be pushed, i don't see a problem with it. My parents are running different tires on the front and back on the lexus right now and have been ffor about 20k miles since 2 of the tires blew out and my dad didn't want to replace all 4 since we were planning on getting rid of the car but my parents had a renewed love for it again. I don't know how well it would perform on a track with 2 different sets of tires, our lexus has never seen a corner hard or anything but is a pretty dang good daily driver. 104k and still running strong on some $50 touring tires.

thanks Karim

*bump* I want to know other peoples experiances with having different tires on different axles. The car isn't going to be pushed that hard, but I would still like to know if the car would have problems. OH and a correction to my previous posts the OEM tires on the Jag are not P6000's they are P4000e's on the rear and P4000's on the front.
