Need some help regarding fl state laws:(

Well I just got my license back after not having it for 3 years, due to unpaid tickets and my car not being able to be used , so there was nosense in getting my license. So I paid the tickets and got my license back like 3-4 weeks ago, and then just this past week I get this nice letter from the state of fl highway patrol saying I have accrued 24 points in 36 mo, they are taking tickets and the points of those tickets from all the way back in 2001-2004, I don't think this is right due to the fact I paid those tickets way back in the day and got suspended for them way back in the day. So my question is does anyone know the fl state law regarding 24 points in 36 mo and how it works exactly? Are they able to back ddate like that? Please help I only got to may 7th right now, thanks:)

Whether or not you paid your tickets has nothing to do with the fact that you managed to get 24 points in a 36 month period. Nothing you can do, thats the law.

that sux what if I already got suspended for those tickets once can they suspend me again, should I talk to my attorney about this? Any help is appreciated, thanks

Being suspended for points and being suspended for failure to pay tickets are two separate infractions. There's nothing a lawyer can do for you.

Yeah but don't screw that up. I JUST got my **** insured today..
