Alternator upgrade

Has anyone here upgraded their alternator?

I'm thinking of doing this... there is a guy on Elitecaraudio.com's forums named "bas" (do a search if you are interested) who upgraded his alt... the shop had to fabricate new brackets though.
Just checkin if anyone else did this..

You might be able to get the stock one rewound. Ohio Generator supplies high current alts and I think they rewind stock ones too. Here is a link to their address and phone.
