What to do with old wheels?

I damaged two of my summer wheels last year in a slide. I only just now got replacements, and I need to know what to do with my old ones. I'd like to get some money out of them, if I can, but one has a damaged polished lip (so it's ugly) and the other is cracked (not safe).

The tires have worn unevenly from when I had no choice but to drive on them, so I'm not sure if they can be salvaged.

Suggestions? Would it even be worth the money to pull the tires off and recycle the wheels, as they are aluminum?

so your saying you have 2 good wheels and 2 bad wheels?

post up some pix of the 2 good wheels, as well as specs like size, weight, offset, etc.

No, I bought two more good wheels, so now I have four good wheels and tires (that I am using) and two bad wheels and tires.

I'm just wondering if there is anything that can be done with the two bad wheels and tires short of recycling them.

Keep them in your garage as spares, or sell them.

Well, as I said, one of them is cracked, so I wouldn't feel comfortable selling it or driving on it if I needed a spare. The other is likely bent so bad it would require so much weight to balance that it wouldn't be worth it.

I suppose I'll just take 'em to a recycling place.

I think they melt. I'm going to throw my bad rota in the campfire and see what happens. (works for beer cans) Then I'll hang it on the garage wall.

stack the two wheels on top of each other. buy a thick round or square glass and place it on top of the two wheels. there you go..you have nice coffee/dinner/whatever table!!! :headbang:

i thinks theres a website that actually take in your old rims even if they are damaged and give you a little discount on their product its worth something i guess.

Burn them, they make a really good smoke signal and cops will come fast :) and its really healthy for the environment.
