need help on rim width

i am getting 18's for my car. not sure what ones yet but i was wondering what width is best. i was thinking 18x7.5 would be the best. also what size tires would be the best to use with
18's???

i would go for 18x8

It really doesn't matter a whole lot. With a 7.5 width, you'll use a 215/35/18 tire and with an 8 width, you'll use a 225/35/18.

The diff in actual tire width is only 1 centimeter, which isn't gunna win ya any more street races and probably won't look a whole lot different. The tires will just cost more.

For race tires, the wider the better. For street tires, just get whichever one you like.
