Brembo Calipers on Stock Rotors? Has anyone tried this? It seems to me that the Celi stops well enough with stock setup, I would think 4 or 6 piston calipers would really liven things up as well .. any thoughts??

Just coz you throw Brembos on a car doesn't mean it automatically stops better.

I'd prefer YOU to read it. It's a good thread. Eminently readable.

Short version:
You are ultimately limited by the traction of your tires.
Adding more front brake bias to a car that has front brake bias from the factory will likely INCREASE your stopping distance.

Making your brakes bigger is thus not necessarily an "upgrade"

Planning on running Advan A048's I'm sure that the car would benefit from a 4/6 piston aluminum caliper setup. I dont know what the stocks are made out of, I think its iron. So why would a lighter weight setup with more grip force be a bad idea?

better breaks + less unsprung weight = more fun!

That's great, IF you get a caliper designed right and designed for the car. The original post is talking about blindly throwing some Brembos on the front rotors, not buying a well engineered kit.

Unless you know the piston area you have no idea what that kit is going to do to your brake bias.

But even a set of StopTechs isn't going to significantly decrease your stopping distance on a single stop. Ask them. They'll tell you the same thing.
