All right, i know how coilover's work and some of the brands out there. I'm looking for a good suspension, nice and tight around the corners, like the stock, not bouncy, and definately adjustable since i live around a **** load of hills and what not. I know i need the coilover springs and new shocks but i don't want to spend 1250 on tiens unless i have to. I'm kinda skeptical about Skunk2 cause i don't want to bounce for 5 minutes after i hit a pebble in the road. I was wondering what combo is good and could save me money, eibach, trd shocks, with what coilover spring? Is it necessary to get the same shock and spring brand name? Any experience with mismatching springs and shocks? Skunk2 bad, good?

ToyoGtS, if you are modding your suspention for performance and not appearance, and you don't want to spend the money on a full coil over suspeniton that includes matching short shocks like Tein or Hotchkis, I would recommend that you simply use the factory springs and replace your shocks with performance aftermarket shocks.

You can't lower your car on a factory style shock and not have the ride be bouncy. One option that people use when they lower their car is buying an adjustable shock to use with their lowering springs and setting them really stiff so they won't rebound as much. This will give you a much better, more controlled ride, but it is not ideal. If you are serious about the performance of your suspention, you should not lower your car unless you are using a short shock that will regain lost suspention travel. Unfortunatly, there are no aftermarket short shocks, the only short shocks you can get come with a suspention package like Tein.

So if you are looking for better cornering out of your Celica but you don't want to pay for a full kit like Tein, I would reccomend replaceing your shocks and running the factory ride height on stock springs. I would reccomend Koni shocks.
