I was reading the news about Hybrid Supra from AutoCar UK, they were saying most likely the Hybrid Supra technology will be applying to a entry level sport car. The MR2 might have a greater chance for reborn because of the new top design used on concept Supra.

I got a magazine from Japan about reborn of Celica will be using 2.4 2AZ-FE or 2.5 Turbo with valvetronic. 4WD will be a consideration during development phase. it will be available in 6MT or SMT sequential Manual Transmission which used on MRS. SMT is getting mature and hopefully the Turbo+SMT will get popular like the MKV Golf GTi DSG setup.

This is the first time I've seen this concept/chop. Look like it has Focus headlights and fenderflares. I like the rear though.

:shrugs: Who knows, Toyota just have the green light for the 2008/9 production of the FT-HS. They've become the number one automaker and might funk around with a "sports" lineup.

Also, the center body look just like a 7th gen. Aside from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gens looking similar, every other gen had a totally new look.

Ionno... But I think the Celica days are over... I think toyota should bring it back and have it compete in the rally competitions but I think Toyota is too busy focusing on the fuel economy/family cars. After all, they beat general motors because of their success in building efficient cars. But wouldn't it be awesome building a hybrid engine that can smoke cars on the streets?? :hitit:

I think they should just combine the Supra/Celica name again because obviously they both still carry a lot of value and make a mid-level RWD sporty car like the Celica was originally supposed to be, something to compete with stuff like Mustangs, Camaros, RX-8s, S2000, etc. maybe with like a 2.0 I4 Turbo or a smaller N/A V6 to get between 250 and 300hp and still keep the weight ~3k lbs or less, but they'd probably never do that... they could even make it hybrid if they want.
