can someone make the sticky threads unsticky

I was wondering why the sticky threads are there. I read a post once and don't really want to see it on top anymore once people stop replying.

Hehe, mebbe we should just leave sticky those events that have yet to occur. Like the June 22nd meet might be a good sticky. And the BBQ was a good sticky, but should've been unsticky'ed after it happened. make sense? just my $.02
