Guys,
I'm not selling my car, but if I were...what would be a fair asking price? Here's what I have:

2000 GT-S Carbon Blue
9,300 miles
2002 conversion (shift cables, injection, ECU - still 8300 cut off!)
tinted 30%
TRD Exhause
Blitz Intake
WW Kit
Kam front bumper replacement

What would be a fair price? What is the car worth?
Thanks in Adv!!
Chris

gimme your VIN and I'll tell ya, mods are only valuable to people like us just to let you know, so there is no real value given for them. But with your mileage you should have a great value...

20K w/ that mileage to someone who appreciates the mods

It's worth whatever somebody will pay for it. I assume that it has been misshifted, so that is a deduction if an enthusiast catches it. I wouldn't necessarily advertise the "2002 conversion".

For comparison, I bought my 00 carbon blue GTS a few months ago with similar mileage (10,000) for $16,000 out the door.

Why do you ask?

Well,
If anybody remembers, I was the one who had a "new" car sold to me (600 miles were on it due to a dealer transfer they said) and 8 days after I had it the engine seized (FOR NO REASON..I WASN'T EVEN OUT OF BREAK IN YET). I had a brand spanking new engine imported just for my car and they replaced it. Well, after some footwork I found out the car was previously titled, engine blown and rebuilt at the shady dealership I got it from and then sold as NEW - not pre-owned, demo'd or used. So, in any case I had a few other engine problems so now I am waiting on a lemon law settlement from toyota (minor deal) and a FRAUD settlement from the shady dealer (big time deal!!). The car runs amazingly perfect now (Props to Sandy at Krause Toyota in Fogelsville) but I need to know some "street" value numbers in case that comes into play anywhere in the next few months. Oh, lastly, I wouldn't ever try to pawn this car as being pristine and completely original on anybody, like they did to me. I know I am losing value due to this fact, so it will also be used in my settlements. Thanks guys on your help...Keep those opinionated values coming in!!!

Wow 16k for a 2000 with 10k miles? Did I get ripped off paying 16,200 for a 2000 White 6mt with 15k miles?

No, you didn't, because mine turned out to be a lemon. Plus I had to travel to St. Louis (from Cincinnati) to pick the car up. I was willing to travel moreso than most to get a good deal. I had someone buy it from a dealer's auction for me. But, my 2000 is being replaced with a 2002 whenever it gets here from the factory. It was a freak deal and not indicitive of the car's "worth". But on the same token, you can't really predict what someone will pay you for your car until the money is on the table. You can only predict a window, which for Steckel would probably be between 16,500 and 19,500 when all is said and done.

I have bought many cars, and it takes a lot of research and patience to find one for less than their fair market value. But I have been rewarded by making profits on all but my first car (broke even).

Actually,
I wheeled and dealed on this car and got it for around $4500 under sticker, hence me driving about 350 miles for it. What a waste of time that was. Now I see who was really doing the wheeling and dealing. That dealer must have thought: "Great, I'm selling a $17,000 car for $20,000 and he thinks he's getting a steal..HA HA!!" We'll see who ends up with the mose pocket $$ on this one *UCKO!! :nono:

My dealer sold my 2000 GT-S 6-speed with 20k miles for $15,995. Or at least that's what it was marked at.

Well I'd imagine they would want to know the difference. A completly origional, No rebuilds with 9000 miles you would be pushing it to get 20,000. I bought mine in 2000 with 40 miles and paid 22000. You lose most value driving off the lot.

As for with the rebuild. This will sig. Drop the price I would guess maybe 16,000 on the street if all info is known

Keep in mind that mods for the most part hurt the resale value of the car. Mostly because mods are only valuable to certain people. If you car hasn't had a transmission rebuild, and has all the options, you can probably expect about 18k for it. A good place to start is Kelly Blue Book.
