Im considering buying a PFC, but its a few years old and been though 2 different cars already. Should I be concerned or do they hold up really well?

i would think that as long as it hasn't been damaged that it should be fine.

As long as the previous owners didn't abuse it (ie. wiring it up while the battery is connected still/installing it without the ecu plastic enclosure/etc) then you should be fine.

does installing it without the cover really damage it? of course aside from the dirt and water getting in, i think it shouldnt matter.

Water + electricity + ECU => expensive smoke + tears
