DDR for PS2

So we have been slow today and I have been thinking of picking up DDR. I was doing some research and found DDR and 2 pads (the good ones) for only 139 is that a good price, I am not sure but anyway. I found that they are releasing Dance Dance Revolution Maxx for PS2 11/13/02 since everyone here is all hypt up over the original I thought I would share.

BTW is that a good price and do the pads work on the PS2

yea, i'm real excited about ddrmax (aka 6th mix) coming out, it's gonna be good. that seems like a good deal if you do want 2 pads for yourself (however the only good that would have is you can have your friends play along or you can play doubles, but don't expect to be doing that for a while). i just got 1 red octane pad a while back (which by the way are really good) for $50 and then i've bought u.s. mix and konamix, and i still need to burn michael's 3rd and 4th japanese ones (i bought a chip but can't use it without the games). and as far as i know, ddr pads work like regular controls and should work on ps2's without a problem. and if anyone wants to come along, me and barry will be up at mall of ga. friday to play some 5th mix (we played for a while today while we were waiting on his car to get done).

What did they end up doing to his car? When will you be up at the mall friday? I'll more than likely be working late but I might be able to meet up with you.

They only replaced the mass airflow sensor and told me I needed the overpriced 30k mile checkup.

Did that help at all? You need the 30k check up to get rid of the bogging? Did you smack them or anything? jk

I didn't say anything about my car bogging. The main thing was that I need to get my parking brake adjusted. There are instructions on the site somewhere. So I'll probably do it myself.

im not completely sure when i'll be up there, it really depends on when i get out of my class (anywhere from 12:00-1:00 usually). if i do get out around then, i should be at the mall around an hour or so later. and yea, that 30k checkup is a rip off, $320 to change your oil, rotate your tires, check fluids, and a few other things that i've already done on my own. only thing that they need to do for me is something about fixing/cleaning/checking my brakes and doing some crap with my injection system. but friday i have to get them to check on my CEL (although it's off for today) and see whats up with the bogging, order seat fabric, fix a broken rubber part around my door, fix my seatbelts so they'll pull back in, and try to stop the excessive rattling in my passanger door. this should be fun...

We could do your brakes Cody. I wouldn't want to mess with the injecion system though. With a good service manual it probably wouldn't be that big of a deal to do that yourself too though.

yea, i figured there's not much to doing the brakes, maybe we'll look at them one day. oh, and barry, they have the move cd's on cdnow.com but since they are imports, they all cost like $26-$40 :(. maybe i'll check ebay, or just try to download them.

What is this DDR?? I see that it is.. Dance Dance Revolution and is for playstation 2 but what do you do?? Do you just mix up music??

It is a game that you dance to, and you can get a pad that you dance on and it recognized what it is that you do with your feet, I don't know much about the game I will let the experts explain, also it is not for PS2 yet right now it is only for PS1.

yea, pretty much it's just a cheesy japanese dancing game. a song plays and at the top of the screen there are 4 arrows (left, down, up, and right) and you stand on a pad that also has those 4 arrows. as the arrows in the screen float up to the arrows on top, you hit them on the pad at the same time (it's really hard to explain but it's a pretty simple concept). i'll admit that it looks horribly stupid when people like me play but it really is a lot of fun after you try it yourself. you get good exercise out of it too.

I don't know todd they seem to recommend really good games, Tokyo extreme is sweet, so I think I will look into this one

i was quoting the game announcer. keep in mind the game looks horribly homo, the first time i saw it in las vegas i said "that shiot is ghey, no way i'm ever playing that." then a guy got on it and beat "boom boom dollar" on maniac and my jaw dropped. the game's really cool if you have the least bit of rhythm in your body and you think any form of dance is cool. i love breaking so it's cool to be able to toprock to songs.

NoNoNO meaning that they recommend good games if they say it's good it probably is, BTW who has it I want to play it before I invest, and looking at it the octane pad seems to be the best and it's 10 dollars more to get the 2 pad combo then to get one pad alone.

international bowl arcade on buford highway, the vans skatepark at the mall of georgia, or tilt at southlake mall (me and cody's area). those are the only places i can think of.

don't worry, you're not missing much. it's just as boring as any other mall, except bigger. they don't even have an arcade. lucky for us the vans skatepark does. on the bright side, the m.o.g. does have lots of hotties there frequently, though.

IBA's machine completely sucks. they have the difficulty on the hardest possible and i fail nearly everything. don't think it would be a good first DDR experience for you. southlake has a somewhat crappy mix but isn't as hard, however it's down here in the middle of no where and closes early. mall of ga itself isn't that great but they have 5th mix which is the best mix in GA right now. and yes, there are a ton of hot girls there usually. malibu grand prix also has U.S. 1st mix but its really boring now. yall try to come up to mall of ga earlier in the day while me and barry are already there so we won't have to go home and then drive back up there later. plus i think the mall closes at 9:00 (although the skatepark/aracde might stay open later).

I might be able to make it to the Mall of Georgia if your up there friday evening. I'll probably be working until at least 5:00 though. Has anyone played the Nascar simulator they have there? I hate nascar and all, but it is a really cool simulator. You actually sit in a little car and it moves around when you spin or hit other cars or whatever. If your not up here during the day are we still on for saturday night? I'll definately make that.

I can't remember how much it costs. I only did it once and that was probably three years or more ago. I'll give you a call if I get off work early enough. I would be down for checking out some of the MOG talent as well. There should be lots of good looking girls there on friday night.

I thought of a few good ones the other day but that was the only one I could remember by the time I got home. Maybe it time to break out the dvd again. I can't stand to watch the whole movie anymore. I have to skip through to the cool scenes which makes the movie last about 20 minutes.
