my car worked fine.. then i got under the dash, i am usually very careful and have done tons of mods.. but this one killed me... ok so i unplugged the factory alarm pluged to the ignition switch.. spliced into the wire i needed and plugged it back up.. now NO START!!!!! it doenst crank or anything.. battery if a full 12.46 volts... all ACC items work fine but now it wont turn over... did the factory alarm disable start or something??? the alarm didnt go off... until i disconnected the battery negative cable to try to reset the alarm or whatever.. now the alarm goes off when i hook back up the negative.. and i cant disable it... and NOTHING when i try to start it!!! it wont turn over at all... i do not have the factory remote to disable the alarm as i bought the car a few weeks ago without one and i havnt gotten around to getting a new one...so anyway does anyone know of a way to fix the tripped alarm (if thats the problem)?? or have any clue what i did wrong??? :bang:

Yea the factory alarm fully disables the car if it is tampered with, just think of someone trying to steal your car, if they disconnect it the car won't start period, i think ur gonna have to go to Toyota for this one... good luck

I'm not sure exactly what your next course of action will need to be, but i had an aftermarket alarm installed in my 2003 GTS. I asked Car toys to disable the stock alarm and they did. Never had a problem.
Where in Texas are you?

I am trying to start a celica "club" for this area.. there are alot of them running around here and some have been modded really nice... im trying to keep mine pretty stock on the outside cause i like the body style anyway.. but inside and under the hood i seem to have gone a little nuts heehehee... my next mod for the inside is a wireless back up camera that i am going to replace the rear view mirror with a 7" screen for all rear veiwing.. ill post pics soon!!!...

^^^I live in Katy and work in Houston. I have been part of Houston/texas based celica clubs....everyone ends up flaming out an not attending meets. Good luck in starting a club, I hope you ahve better luck than others have had in the past.
What do you mean you've gone "a little nuts" under the hood? I always like hearing what other cars have.....shoot me a PM if you are looking to keep it a secret. :D

alarm problem fixed!!!!! had to get it towed to the toyo place but it was cool cause my insurance covers roadside for free... and the nice technician at killeen toyota named bubba of all things heheehee.. checked it out for free... the reason it wouldnt reset or start was a blown 7.5 fuse in the engine fuse box.. ONE TINY LITTLE FUSE!!!!!! kept the entire engine from starting... i guess its the achilies tendon of the car. anyway... now im all good... ITS ALLL A BIG SECRET SWING FIXER!!! no im kidding i have only had the car a couple weeks.. so under the hood is a work in progress... in the cabin ive done all the little mods....full fog light control, back up beep disable, DRL disable, a few fixins here and there, in dash DVD flip out, wireless back up cam, constant 12v to the lighter socket, grill inserts in the headrest, underdash lights, electroluminescent guages, push button start, and thats just the begining...

you know some of you on here need to work on your tact.. anyway... the heel was on the mythical god... the tendon when cut will render you paralyzed and you can not move.. so in retrospect i was correct to say tendon.. ahhhhhhhhsoooooooo danielson...

OK, so does this mean if I unplug the alarm, the car just shuts off then? I need to do this (made another thread too, but no response).
Can't you just like, reset the ECU?
