Thanks for the compliment everyone!
I've owned the car for 7 years.. since 99 when it first came into town. I've envisioned it like that for quite some time lol

Ideally I would want the centre piece sprayed pewter grey instead of black.. but I'm still ok with it. The two tone black colour makes it appear from outsiders like it's a stock Toyota gps set-up (making it look untampered with/unmodified.. hence detering thieves). As well, some think it helps to reduce glare on the screen during the daytime. Are you selling a navi filler though?

The lcd screen damn, I threw the box out. It's a 5.6" TFT matrix screen that I bought used. I previously had a cheapass old monitor that I used.. it was ugly, unclear and huge.. finally chucked the pos.

And it's an oranged-out console. All the orange matches the dials.

Sound set-up? The DVD system is running on the stock deck, stock speakers with an FM modulator! I wanted it this way, OEM stock looking. Everyone and their dog tried to sell me on an aftermarket deck.. but alas, the dream was fulfilled. And surprisingly, it sounds great! Stereo sound quality movies! My gf loves it.

Did you change the color of your clock with filters?

looks good, would look better with a navi filler to close up that large hole.

correct =)

There isn't a hole. But maybe by the way the picture turned out, it looks like there is. It's solid.

yea the black looked like a hole but all clear now. Very nicely done. changing all to orange was a great idea and now looks like a nice clean stock 04 color scheme with navi

A long time ago, I bought one from the first batch of the jdm console pandemic. It was a group buy on nc.org (davidb?). I sold it shortly after realizing it was too difficult of a project and i had no $. Now, I re-bought the jdm console (used from a celicagarage.com member who gave up as well) and finished the project with the help from B1 Audio.

The TFT screen I bought off the owner of celicagarage.com; I know him personally. He's the guy that did the write up article for cabin air filter diy. LoL We're both old school--I'm talking about spoolin' and celica.net days (if you're old school, then you know what I'm sayin' ;)).

nice doode.. now all u need is the digital a/c control and you'll be JDM completely for the dash. Does anyone know if Lexus's screens will fit and configure properly?

dash --- center console I mean. You may wanna upgrade to the newer deck.. like the Scion tC one, it fits just the same with mp3 compatible.

www.boomplustoys.net/jdm_celica.shtml, It runs for about $99. My brother told me about the site. I can't visit the site from iraq, its blocked. But he said it's on there. Let me know if it's the 00-05 JDM Celica.

It's there for the 00-05 Celica. But $99 USD is a bit pricey, though I haven't seen any other price for that piece yet.

how is it installed? how did you mount the screen? what all parts will i need to install a navi and connect to lcd?

hombredelassrta
11-13-2007, 05:43 AM
screen install varies from person to person as there are no actual screen mounts and unless u find out how to wire in the toyo nav, there is no install. i had my screen molded to the back and use hooks to mount it
