Fuel Gauge!!!!!!

I've never filled up my gas tank since I bought it. I have a GTS 6 speed and was wondering if any of y'all can help me. I was wondering if one bar on the fuel gauge represents 1 gallon. I hope not because, I only got like 16 miles from one bar to the next.

i say every 5 bars is worth 20 miles...for the first 3/4 of the tank

I usually get about 100 miles from full to 3/4 bars

Well it all depends on how you drive it as well. If your shifting at like 5k rpm then your gas is obviously going to go down quickly. Also, do you have any mods on your car? Not that I think it's going to make your mileage go down that much, but give us more details. =)

the car is basically stock except for a trd drop in filter. I would say I drive it aggressively half the time and civilized the other half.

I get:

From Full --> 3/4 = 125 miles
3/4 --> 1/2 = 75 miles (200 total)
1/2 --> 1/4 = 60 miles (260 total)
1/4 --> 1 bar left = 60 miles (320 total)

wierd, i get 400miles easy on a full tank

^^^ It's basically how you drive. If you avg atleast 70mph, then its possible to go beyond 300 miles on a full tank. But drive above that then you'll burn a lot.

In mixed driving, through rush hour traffic, I get about 360 miles per tank. I hate the fact that premium is so damned expensive though.

Well, I guess compared to most other countries, we have some damn cheap gas here in the US, I guess I'll stop complaining.

just finished a road trip. 495 miles on one tank, but that was 80% highway driving. I can usually get 415 and when i fill up it show i still have about a gallon left, but i own an auto gt so driving hard is still pretty slow.

When you have one bar left...it is indicating that you have approx. 1.5 Gallons left. No bar indicates you are using reserve gas which is 1.5 gallons... I have a habit of tracking gas guages..

Full tank to 3/4= 125-150 miles depending on local or freeway

after 2 qtrs= 215-240 depending on local/HW

after 3qtrs= 290-315 depending on loca/HW

after 4qtrs with no bars left= 380-430 depending on local/HW

For local driving, I get average some around 400 over or below..

For HW driving.. I get average 420 over or below..

Max Local I got was 427ish and Max HW i got was 468miles....

I drove around with no bar... on the gas..
It seems to keep on going and going.. ^^
I just took my car for due bill at the dealer... and they deailed my car and filled up the tank for second time.. for free.. ^^

that sounds about right to me. i usually get around 60-70 miles on the first bar n then it starts to drop more rapidly. i dont know how some of you get 400+ miles to a tank. i know i never have!

when our gas lights come on, ~ how much gas do we have left?? any body know?

I have never seen 400 miles on a tank either, but I never drive far when the light comes on. If I fill up when the light comes on, I can only get 12.5 gallons into our 14.5 gallon tank. The best mileage I have seen has only been around 30 for me, but then I never take long trips either.

i have made it from lansing michigan to milwaukee wi thats about 375 miles on one bar over 3/4 of a tank.stay at about 70 to 80 whole way only slowing for toll ways in illinos.
