Its got some bad scrapes and some chunks out of it. I am thinking about either ordering a new OEM bumper myself and painting it, or just taking it to a body shop and see what they will charge. Do you think its easily doable to paint a new bumper using aerosol cans from paintscratch.com? Will it stand out? Also if i do go that route, what exactly should I order? Will I need primer?
thanks for any help, I will try to upload pics tomorrow.
do you know how to paint/ have the right equipment. painting with a spray can and with a compressor and HVLP are two different things
Where in ohio are you? I can do it for you cheaper than any body shop since i do it out of my dads house

Between cincinnati and dayton. And no ive never really painted a car before, dont have much experience with it. Is it pretty hard to get it to look good? I guess I would imagine so, thats why body shops have business haha.
It's not hard, just time consuming. It's ALL in the prep work. You will need to prime, sand and smooth (keep priming and sanding untill it's smooth) than base coat clear coat. If you don't have the skills or the equipment don't do it.

my front bumper got scrapped too, was thinking of repainting the whole thing to another color :D
is it alright to simply sand the current paint off and then apply hammerite paint? since the hammerite claims to be able be applied on rust and has 3 layers (primer, paint and clear?).
or does hammerite not stick to the front bumpers? :(

I also am planning to get my front bumper repainted and I have used a local body shop before that seems to do pretty good work. There prep work seems to be among the best in my area and that is probably one of the main things you worry about when having something painted on your car.
On my last car I got the front bumper painted because it had lots of rock chips and they primed it, put a base, and two layers of clear coat for $100. I think this is a pretty good price, especially since I have no experiance in painting cars at all.
I would say the best thing for you to do is to find a person like xero to piant your bumper for you our to find a shop in your local area that does good clean work which can sometimes be hard to find.
