Probably getting my car back today

I talked to the service manager at Toyota yesterday. After bringing it in Monday morning, my new engine is already bolted up to the transmission. All that's left to do is putting the head back on the engine... cams, valves, cam gears, all of that up top. So I will probably start breaking in my new engine today!

I can't wait!

They gave Ryan (6spdgts) a new engine too. Also, I think GTS LAID is getting a new one. I think if you blow your engine bad enough, toyota will replace the whole thing the first time.

Yes, they sometimes replace the whole engine and all. This is the first time I've heard of them replacing it on a GT!

I don't think they will admit outright, but basically I think they forgot to put oil in my engine at my previous oil change. Either that, or there was some sort of serious oil leak, but I never noticed oil burning which is pretty obvious when it's happening. Especially since my car had NONE after only six weeks since my previous oil change.

I had a problem six weeks ago when I was driving along and oil shot absolutely everywhere. All of my oil drained out of my car and I pulled over immediately. I was towed to Toyota and I'm guessing they forgot to put oil back in.

The service manager told me that someone "messed up". I didn't want to pry and give him a hard time since they were so cool about the new engine, so I left it at that.

Oh and allow me to clarify. They're not giving me an entire new engine. Just a new "short block". So basically just the cylinders, rod bearing, crank shaft, blah blah blah. Everything above the cylinders they are keeping.
