The true market value of the 6spd GT-S it $23,500 with action package. Thats the price I asked for from a dealer and they said they will give it to me for that. I'm also going to put $10,000 down. This way my Celica will be faster then my wifes : )

So about 22k without the AP? I prefer to do my own body mods :)

May I ask why you chose the celica as your next daily driver? Just think its interesting that you own 2 v8's(assuming the camaro is an 8) and would consider an inline4. :)

you didnt lose to a celica did you?
MY rule of thumb is whatever the sticker price is i ask that price but that includes TT&L !

Lol, to be honest, I really want to try another import. I loved my old NSX I had awhile back, and considered getting a 91 for my daily driver, but the cost of tires alone really hurt. My friend has one of these and the wife to be really likes it. I can always build the engine and turbo it if I feel the need for more power in the future. But really, I would just drive one of my other cars.
Why? It's a nice little quick comfortable car :)

Hey...aren't you the guy that raced the Civic in your Vette?

Anyways, I give you mad props for admitting your defeat(civic incident) and learning from it (I'm sure a lot of people learned from it. :) ). It takes a lot of balls to do that and although people made a big laugh about it, you gained much respect for taking it all and hangin in there. If I had a c5, i probably would have thought the same as you, but there's always a really small percentage of any car that people are making quick and apparently you found one of them. :D
The Celica is a great car, but pales in comparison to a c5. But in its price range, theres probably nothing closer to it. (mainly lacks RWD and torque.)

Keeping the vette, going from 95 Camaro daily driver to 2002 Celica. A nice upgrade. :)

I got my GTS for 20K at South Bay Toyota. It doesn't have moonroof or side airbags or leather, but i think it's worth it. If you are gonna be shopping around for one, i think South Bay Toyota couls save you a lot of money cuz they don't work with commission.

If you ever thought about turboing a car. The celica would probly be the hardest car to turbo IMO. Maybe if you like the Acura RSX then its a much easier car to go F/I. Just my thought. Im thinking of just boosting my car also. Because N/A is really hard to get power unless you high compression, cams, etc, etc...
But anyway the Celica is a great car, I like it. Just take it for a test drive and high vvtl-i and that should be enough to buy it. :D
You live in sac right? Maybe we can meet up and you can give me a test drive in that C5(beast). Just PM me or something.

Isnt the rsx gonna have the same problem with fi as we are? I thought the compression on that was the same as ours? Isnt that gonna cause some problems without lowering the compression?

i looked online and got the invoice price with the options i wanted. if you are in so cal, toyota of cerritos helped me by charging me $200 over invoice for my celica. my dad bought a tacoma from them last weekend and only paid $150 over the invoice. hope that helps.
i used edmunds.com, btw.

Sorry had too... Welcome, have you looked into a Matrix XRS? I have been hearing good things, one of them being they are faster than a Celica..

Well the RSX already has prototypes of the HKS and Greddy turbo's and the celica only has XS egineering. So I think the RSX is already on the way to be turbo charged.
Correct me if im wrong. and im only talking about Turbos

Well.. here is the stuff about prices on Celica...
I'm ex-carsalesman(for short term)... also friend still work there..
The sticker price for my Celica was 27k...
That is with Chrom GTS wheel.. Action package.. sunroof.. side airbag and ABS... 16" rim(only $50 upgrade worth it) and all the standard equipment..
The actual dealer invoice was 22,900(without chrome which was dealer option)...
I bought the car as of 22,900 plus taz,,, VTR.... the out the door was 25,222... that is the cheapest way to buy....
End the end... the deal was swap out the chrome wheel with regular factory 16" wheel.. but my friend did something that I didn't had to swap it out... so I got this chrome wheel for free..
The retail price on the chrome (dealer option) was $1300
I personally don't lke chrome wheel.. but I'm getting it for free so... why not... hehe maybe sell it...
I believe..... the bone stock GTS Manual is 20k no option..
Kelly Blue Book price on Celica GTS (http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.nc3?kbb.NV;386737&89117;car&6;Toyota;2002%20Celica&M36M5A5&&Cars&4;36)
Add some options... then goto dealer.. if you can get the car at the invoice then.. you got it for cheapest price...
Hmm.. few options.. blah blah.. 22k plus tax are good price...

Please, Tell me that the Camaro is a v6 and not a v8...:wtf:
I'd think that since you were such a speed demon with them deep pockets that you'd go for a 02' z28 or something, but then again, that's just me...

another Honda owner, browsin through our threads... hmm... once again, isnt there some newcrx.com board or somethin? besides, Acura RSX (Type S) will be as hard to turbo as GTS, if not harder (we know some1 at least did a turbo of GTS, did anyone do it for Type-S?)

umm... this forum isnt all about the cars. First off ive been here longer than you and tons of other people with different cars browse this forum. So shut your mouth.
There are more turbo RSX type-S than Celica GT-S.

ncgreg231, it's a V8 but it's a 95 and now has over 100k miles on her. She is starting to break and I'm having to put miles on Sasha and Rebeca (my other cars)
Deep pockets is a matter of prespective. I might seem like I have lots of money to some, but looking out my eyes, I'm quite broke. :o
Really, the Celica is about 100 times more confortable and have a better ride than the F-body does, and I already have two very high performance cars if I feel the need. That, and I would like to have another import to mod and do not want to / can't drop another 40k on a car. :) My wife to be would leave me,

the first thing you should do if you pick up an '02 celica is swap in an '00 celica ECU and old knock sensor because the older ones had an 8300rpm rev limiter while the newer ones were cut down to 7800 because of people misshifting (no idea how that helps cut down on misshifts, toyota's reasoning was pretty :gay: there).
and those 500rpm make a huge difference.
