ok i know what springs are but i am confused on the whole shock/strut thing. if i buy springs do i need either of these. i know i can use the stock strut but it wont last long but what about the shocks. ok also if i get coilover does that change anything i have to buy. i want to do some suspension work but i am confused on what i need to do to get it lowered and have good performance......

You probably would need aftermarket shocks too after 2-3 months if you are planning on going lower than 1.75" especially if the roads you travel on are not good. If you plan on getting a coilover set, then some camber plates would be necessary if you are going to lower it all the way.
