Can I drain my regular oil out then just switch to synthetic? I heard there are some special flushing procedures you should do? Bull **** or what? Can I just pour the synthetic in after I drain the regular oil?

I don't think there's any harm in mixing conventional and synthetic, so I don't see why the small amount of conventional left behind would hinder the new synthetic. Anyway I hope this is true, because I switched to synthetic recently, and I didn't do any flushing of the system.
Yeah, that's bull. You can even mix synthetic and conventional oil 1:1 if you like. It's best to stay with the same weight, though. Anyone who's been thru an engine and knows what's going on inside wouldn't say that. It's pretty simple: Oil is good, synthetic is better, no oil is BAD!

No flushing is really required. All synthetic oils on the market are fully compatible with conventional oils. Just do a thorough drain when the engine is hot, then switch to synthetic.

PLus if synthetic wasn't compatible with conventional oil, why do companies sell Blended Synthetic/Conventoil (which is about 10-20% synthetic)?
Flushing is optional, but there are some who swear by it.
