I got in a little arguement today with a friend about what was better for 0-60.. I said AWD and he was saying RWD.. I know AWD drive isn't great at top end, but isn't better 0-60?

on street tires with decent power the awd will rule all. However if it is on slicks and both are modded extreme then it is up to the better set up rwd will give a better weight transfer. but on street tires it can't hook like awd.
RWD ownz. More fun to get crazy with.

I believe the question was for 0-60. :D
AWD owns RWD on the short haul. Try it in some rain. :P

AWD is better than RWD which is better than FWD. ;)

Try out launching a modded Mustang or auto LS1 with a high stall. All wheel WHAT??? you'll see...solid rears rule.
But stock for stock AWD vs. RWD I give the edge to AWD, but no one races to 60 and stops...well some do but that's because they are afraid of being passed so they shut it down :)
There will be some drivetrain losses, obviously, but more importantly is the 200 lb weight increase with the extra halfshafts, differential, power takeoff, etc, etc.

potentially, nothing and i mean nothing beats RWD for straight line luanch characteristics, etc.
just think..people out there in RWD's run 4 second quartermiles..imagine their 0-60 time.
oh, and I've owned, and raced FWD, AWD, and RWD.
my persona favorite out of them all is RWD, simply because of the "feel" the RWD gives me through turns, or at teh strip.
