recently been going LED crazy .. i now found these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2pcs-HB3-9005-Fog-1W-High-Power-LED-Xenon-White-Bulb_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33713QQihZ010QQite mZ200124808894QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW) high beam/DRL lights .. any body know if these are any good?.. they run at 1w .. but regular bulbs would run at 55w. i know that LEDs usually run on lower power but, this is a HUGE difference.. just wanna make sure im getting something that will actually work ..

The LED's should have enough resistors to account for the difference, however I'd be skeptical on how much light output those actually produce, especially for driving.

i rarely use the high beams ... so basically its for DRL ... what do u guys think?.. should i jump on it then?.. and post pics ?.. huh? huh? huh?

for DRL that maybe a great idea being that a reg bulb is nasty yellow at low power of DRL mode. however with low power DRL the leds may not light at all

well my guess is that if the regular bulb runs at 55w and has sufficient power to run a dim bulb ... it should be enough to power 1w ... am i right or wrong... .. i think i'll sit it on this for a few days.. wut i like about my bulbs now is the blue bulb that gives the headlights some color :gap:

but lets say the 1w led is set to be 1w when full power (100% 55w) DRLs run at i think 30% so .3w may not be bright enough to notice its even on. that may have been completely wrong and i am sure dooly will correct me but thats what my thinking is

it proabably could be done but dont think that it would give you suffiecient light as a high beam  since you said 1w in guessin it uses a luxeon led those puppies run hot as hell and would need a heat sink but again as hombre said ask dooly

and the drl's are teh high beams at 30% power during the day

That will work, but it won't be bright at all..
Even if you turn on the high beam...

During daytime it will be very dim.... since DRL is high beam at lower power...

LED is bright.. don't get me wrong....
It's still not yet practical to have LED will replace the headlight...

Only production true LED headlight is on the Lexus LS 600h
But it's gona be while before other cars will have LED headlight(with truelly functional headlight)

Actually, I've seen 10w or even 30w LED....
But those are used for architectual use...

Once you get into 10-30w.. you'll need massive heatsink or some way to cool them down....
