Is it possible fit the front bumper of the restyle 03+ celica, bought through body-work, on 00-02 celica with the no-cool original bumper?
thanx
This has been covered many times already.
YES, it will fit. All you need is the crash bar, styrofoam cover, and foglights. (If you plan on using fuglights you need the 2003+ fogs and the 2003+ crash bar.)

I just did the 03 conversion, but i didn't put in the new style bumper foam. What is the purpose of this piece anyways?
It hold up the bumper should you decide to sit on it.

It bolts right on but all u need is to replace the 00-02 fog lamps brackets with the 03-05 ones otherwise ur fogs aint gonna fit into the holes of the bumper.

The bumper does fit without replacing the brackets but it will just look odd.

Well it depends. I dont have my foam cover on and my front bumper rattles.

Yes, but like you had said, it will be expensive to go through the dealership. Go to your local junkyards and see if they have a junked 03+ Celica.
I call it a "crash bar" only because its the first structural thing to absorb the damage on a head-on collision.

ive put a 03-04 bumper on a 00-02 and didnt use the newer fog lights. I just used the old ones and drilled new holes for the fog lights. You could just do that instead of buying new fog lights.

lol that 'crash bar' is what is actually considered to be the bumper. what we usually call the bumper is really called the bumper cover. :wiggle:
anyways, are you saying that they changed the bumper reinforcements for the 03+ celicas? i wasn't aware of that; i thought they were all the same???

Wow...not sure what you guys are talking about. The bumper fits up fine. All you have to do is shave the bumper foam to fit the new bumper. You dont need any brackets, new fogs or new crash bar. The bumper will look just as it does on an 03. The shaving takes a while to do, but I just used a loose razor blade from a exacto knife and shaved it down little by little. The bumper foam is very important. If you get in a wreck it will save your front end. Without it your bumper will blow up and the foam obsorbs low speed impacts without damaging the rest of the car/hood/reinforcements/ect.

to center the fogs exactly you will need foglight brackets but it is not necessary.
